Recent rainfall

I have been to orando before in the summer months and know how you can have a brief rainshower daily. But, we are going in a week and every year I look at the forecast and see thunderstorms predicted for every day and start to get nervous.

In the past week, has it been the traditional weather, or has it been raining and thunderstorming all day long? We are going to US/IOA for one day only and it has to be on a specific date and I'm hoping it's not a waste of money if we can't go on alot of the rides.

Yes during the summer, there is a chance for rain everyday. The fact of the matter is, that it probably will rain, maybe for a couple of hours, but on the other side of that storm it will lower the temp and usually cleans out the parks.

This past week it's been a bit different, cloudy most of the time with showers off and on during the days depending on where in the city you are. I don't watch the weather, so I don't know what's been going on, but one of my coworkers stated that we were getting some stray storms from TS Alex. Not sure if that's true or not.

If it rains all day when you're here, then you're just going to have to be inducted as an Honorary Floridian. Throw on a poncho and keep trucking. A lot of the rides are indoors so you'll just have to worry about the rain walking to each ride, but the ride won't actually close down. The rides that are outdoors will close down only if there is lightening within 5 miles. At times we've ridden rides when it was pouring and looked terrible outside, but there was no lightening so they kept everything operational.

I wouldn't worry about it if I were you, just plan ahead and if it does rain, make the best of it. Laugh at the people that leave because they think they're going to melt. Just know it will make shorter lines for you! But honestly, I think you should be more worried about preventing a sunburn, than getting soggy in the rain. Best of luck on your trip!

We just spent the past 9 days in Orlando and had the same fears over the same forecast. In the end, rain only hindered us for about 4 hours Friday afternoon/evening. It rained two other days, but for less than an hour. On the other side of the rain was nothing but walk on rides the rest of the day, so not all bad.

This past weekend there has been a good amount of rainfall but we need it so I'm glad. Plus it keeps the temps and lines down too.

We live in the Tampa Bay region and have weather similar to Orlando's. We complain that it almost never rains, but wow, it's been pouring the last few days and it's gray and wet again today.

Just pack your most comfortable rain wear and have a great time.

........and it is grey in Orlando right now.... but it is keeping temps down a bit & the cloud cover the last few days have made the parks more tolerable!
Just carry a poncho for that rain....

Rain keeps the crowds down and cools you off. It wouldn't bother us a bit.

Down here in South Florida the last two weeks or so we've been getting more rain than in June and I honestly welcome it as June was a scorcher with highs every day in the mid 90's.The last couple of days after the rain comes and goes the temperatures have gone down nicely.

It's been pretty typical weather with some exceptions here and there.

Everyday starts off sunny, then it rains sometime in the afternoon. Some days it'll stop after an hour or so, other days it will continue sprinkling throughout the rest of the day.

I'm at the parks around 4-5 days a week and it can be amusing to see people run through the rain. The rain doesn't seem to stop many though. I see plenty with ponchos and umbrellas.
