I had neuro-surgery on my neck recently and we're headed to the world next week. I am extremely nervous about the crowds. I have a note from my surgeon but I am hesitant to ask for a GAC card because I am afraid of a "response" from the general public. Standing for long periods of time is not the issue (I would get a wheelchair if that were the issue), the issue is lines coupled with being in a crowd. Do you think the card would be of help to me or will I face backlash from the public? Please help!

A note is not needed and most likely will not be read. I don't know that a GAC is going to be able to help you. You may want to consider a wheelchair as a protective measure from the crowds. My sister did this after her last neck surgery and it gave her "space" in a crowd. Crowds can be everywhere at WDW not just in ride lines, a wheelchair can help provide a "buffer" zone in all areas of the parks.

That's exactly what I was wondering. I appreciate your feedback, I was wondering what other opinion would be.

Sorry to say - but there is no crowd protection at WDW.

I can understand your need, but the GAC system is not set up for that. Have a great trip. Try not to worry.

I agree a wheelchair or ECv may be the way to go. An ECv will give you more freedom to go where you want when you want but is more expensive. Have fun.
