Recent MSELP Experiences

We are thinking of heading to DLR next Thursday for dinner and to catch the parade. It's at 8:30 and 10:30 that night. Can anyone share recent experiences? When did people start lining the route? Are they still enforcing the "no empty blanket/seat saving" policy? Any advice is appreciated!

It doesn't seem like they've been enforcing the new policy much recently. Last Thursday for the 8:30 parade, Main Street was at least 50% full by 6:15, with lots of blankets all over the place. Ropes were not up yet. I will say that all the blankets were attended by someone, but most were one person sitting on a mostly-empty blanket.

The second show is apparently not nearly as crowded, but we have a four-year-old so we never last that long.

Agreed. We just got home from our trip tonight. People were all over Main Street with blankets, strollers etc at least 1-2 hours prior. Some blankets were spread out with only 1-2 people "saving" them. We are not folks who need a front row parade seat, so we just watch from wherever we are, if we aren't riding rides! Seems it's not being enforced though.

One person on a blanket is not unattended and is still allowed. When I was there about a month ago on a Sunday they said that even if the ropes were down, if the CMs were standing by to put the ropes up, it's fine. The CMs never left after Soundsational, so holding a spot for both parades would have been allowed that day.
