Recent letter from DVC - SSR purchase

I know this has been said before, but I am really confused, if I purchase 130 points (add-on), I can get 2 AP or a week through II, and also either 5 or 10 off per point.

but if I only purchase 100 points I can only get 5 or 10 off per point??

I wonder why they made it 130 points?

Are these options available for new buyers also, and if so, I thought the minimum was 150?

130+ points & 2 AP or II vacation is only good for add-ons only.

You are correct, through DVC (not resale) the minimum purchase for new members is 150 points. The current offer for new member purchase is (or was as of a few weeks ago):

$85 per point, no points or maintenance fees until 2005

or

$95 per points, no points or maint fees until 2005 + you get matched point for point for 1 time devlopers points. These can be used @ any WDW or DVC property EXCEPT SSR between now & Sept. 30, 2005. Ex. we purchased 180 points use year June (we will not receive our 1st allotment until 6/2005, but took advantage of the developers points, we have 180 dev. points to use from now until 9/30/05. We are using them in 2005 for a trip to HHI & WDW. We will bank MOST (all but 15-20) of our 2005 points into 2006.
