recent Kyriad experiences?

My mum and me stayed there during our unfortunate trip in dec (7th to 11th).
Room was very small even though clean, i was a bit put off by no shampoo in the Bathroom just a soap dispenser near the bath tube, so bring yours ....
Internet connect in the room was very good.
Breakfast ok-ish, hot items not too good have to say and choice a bit limited.
A budget hotel would say.

I was happy with the Kyriad and in fact have just booked it again for Halloween 2015, Travel Republic have some fantastic prices for half term week, if you know your dates and pay up front, I chose to pay the £1 deposit as waiting for easy jet to release flights.
I have just written up my review on TR when its published I'll pop a link up, copy and paste it here :)

What was so unfortunate about it?

I always take my own toiletries , never use the ones hotels leave behind and I find the breakfast even the hot items not too good no matter where we stay at disney.

I just want somewhere clean without things falling apart. Had a terrible time at the explorers a few years ago despite reading the bad trip report reviews which is why Im unsure about booking the Kyriad.

Well nothing related to Disney, my mum fell in front of ToT and got a elbow broken and a pulled muscle in her leg just one hur after we had Arrived ....:sad1::

Kyriad looked good to us even though not fantastic...the Bathroom could had been better with a little refurbishment but Anyway was clean and good for its use... Beds clean and confy :thumbsup2

Its an ok hotel, not great and not bad, but is not as good as it used to be.

The hotel attracts school groups- so it can be a bit of a mess round check and and breakfast.

The rooms are ok - basic and clean- ish- we were given a disabled room and the bathroom stank of damp- like there was a hidden water leak that had been there a long time, the beds were not great either and there was a lack of pillows (but I find that's the norm in France)

There have also been reports of things being stolen from rooms- but that can happen at any hotel.

If you can afford to upgrade to the dream castle or Magic circus I would personally.

I was one of the guests who reported items stolen.

I found internet is hit or miss. It's absolutely horrible in the main building, to the point where a couple of people were sitting by the elevators in their PJs trying to get a signal. It is a lot better in the side building.

We stayed there in December for the pin event again. I wasn't comfortable, but as we only needed a place to crash for one night and were not leaving anything in the room we decided to risk it.

As it's been said, my friend with me absolutely hated the beds.

Also I wasn't quite impressed that they made me pay that tourist tax again. booking.com charged me for it, but Kyriad claimed they only received the room payment part. It was only 2 Euro something, but after the nightmare the year before it really didn't get them on my good list. Could be the problem was with booking.com seeing they didn't reply to my message, but the staff was quite rude about it even when I showed them my receipt which clearly said I had paid in full.

Just read your report. Did you take any pics of the room snd bathroom?

It's halloween this year, I'm looking at.

Oh the price for oct half term :)
If it was a matter of hotel only I would of been there like a shot !!
Fab pay now price :)

I'm very curious about this hotel as well since it's an option to book using BA Avios. We will need two nights accommodation, so I'm hoping we can enjoy it knowing upfront to expect budget room.

I've just copied and pasted the review into the Kyriad thread on here, with a few more bits that I thought of added in, only took photos of the outside of the hotel.

Going back in October Rachel, can get another trip in with our AP's from last year, just me and Liam again and I'm inviting my niece and nephew along - they don't know yet, waiting to tell Jack next week on his birthday :)

Just bare in mind it's a budget hotel, sometimes I get the feeling that TR posters book 2 star hotels and expect 4 star service!

I think this sums it up, really. We stayed in the Kyriad in September 2014, and I was unimpressed. But we got a very good deal, so price-quality-wise it was good. It really depends on what you want and expect. I know this doesn't sound very "holiday-like", but there it is. Personally, I'd prefer a little more next time, the Kyriad is quite a "basic" hotel.
