Hi,

Any recent experiences or good suggestions for park and fly for Buffalo. Any you would definately stay away from.:)

We just stayed at the Fairfield Inn (Marriott) on March 16th. It just opened and is new. It's very bright and clean. The staff was very nice too. Our kids liked the free cookies at the front desk when we checked in. :) They offer a free breakfast which is good and will package it up (to go) if you don't have time in the morning to eat. We did the park and fly and you can park up to 14 days. They also have a pool and a good excercise room. However we didn't use these as we got in late.

When we returned from Florida they offered us hot chocolate and cookies in the hotel before we packed up and headed back to Canada. That was nice. We'd stay there again.

We also stayed at the Fairfield for two nights during March break (at the beginning and the end of our trip) and would definitely recommend it! The staff are fantastic (very attentive) and they packed up a breakfast for us since we were leaving the hotel at 5:30 am to catch our flight. The shuttle service is a great perk and the Park 'n Fly offered is a competitive rate. We are staying there again in August!!! :thumbsup2

Our fav is Homewood Suites by Hilton. Shuttle is always available for the airport (as well as trips to the mall if you have time before your flight) Complimentary breakfast and 24/7 coffee and pastries are available.

plus a few times they've made us fresh cookies (mmmm)

Yes, that's it.

Oh and one other thing. When you leave your vehicle at the Fairfield Inn it stays in the hotel parking lot which is a good thing. In 2008 we stayed at the Sleep Inn. Their "long term" parking was actually down the road in another lot and not fenced at all. I personally didn't like the idea. Just be mindful of this when booking your hotel.

Sorry to hijack your thread. But now that I look at the Fairfield Inn, I am wondering if I should switch my park and fly from Homewood Suite to here. I have to rooms booked at Homewood Suites for the 10 of us w/2 cars. Our rate is $210.55 per room including parking.

I am nervous to try a new hotel. I have stayed at Homewood Suite and like the service and that the rooms are clean. We stayed at Sleep Inn last time. Will never do that again!

Would the Fairfield Inn be comparable to Homewood Suites? I see I could get a park and fly package for $179. I am also worried about getting to the airport by shuttle. The Homewood Suites shuttle will have to make 2 trips. We have a flight out at 6:30am. So we would need to be at the airport by 5:00? Any thoughts?

I will be staying at the Fairfiled on Friday night. I always book the Marriott chain.

I have stayed at both the Homewood Suites and Fairfield Inn mentioned. HS is more of an "apartment" style, while the Fairfield is more like an extended hotel room. Be careful what type of room you get, it is the Queen/Queen suite that sleeps more than 4. We personally love Fairfields, the Buffalo location just opened first week of July (we were there!) we also stayed there on Christmas eve before we flew out to Cali. The rooms and the pool area are very clean and. The breakfast is simpler at the Fairfield, but if you are flying out early, you would probably just be taking a bag to go from either location. The Fairfield is directly across from the airport, not that HS is that far away. Happy to answer

On our last trip I had some Marriott points that I used with the Park and Fly. You can book the room under points but you have to pay out of pocket $50 for the parking. Still a good deal IMO.

We've stayed at the Millennium hotel the past 2 years, with parking. No issues and very reasonable in terms of pricing. Great shuttle service too.

The Buffalo Marriott Niagara was a great hotel for a great deal. Check out betterbidding and use Priceline to bid on the 3.5* in Buffalo-Amherst. You will get the Buffalo Marriott Niagara since it is the only hotel listed under the 3.5* category with priceline. You just register your vehicle at the front desk for the free shuttle to the airport which is 5 miles away and they pick you up when you return. There is no limit on how long you can leave your vehicle and the great thing is you can do it when book through Priceline and park for free. The hotel is very nice. I got it for $52.00 last December but looks like it has gone up slightly. Recent bids look like $60.00 is the magic number.

We stayed here on our Black Friday shopping. The hotel was pretty nice but we could hear a pin drop in the room next door the walls were paper thin.

But everything right on the strip be the airport is like $150 with parking. Maybe for $60 we will try the Marriot and pay the $40 to park. We have a 6:30 flight so we have to be there early.

They have a free shuttle to the airport and pick you up on your return and you can leave your vehicle for free at the hotel while away even when booking through priceline so you don't need to pay $40.00 for parking.

One I would NEVER go back to.....RAMADA

It was terrible :scared1:

Doors and walls had holes all over

Parking was unsecure (laneway next to hotel)

Staff were rude and obnoxious :headache:

We didn't know it was this bad when we booked, but because we were there only for a few hours, so we endured the mess.

But....I worried about my car the whole time I was away :headache:

Our return flight lands at 11:45pm so I really don't want to wait for the shuttle and the drive over there.

Anyone stay at the Holiday Inn Express lately?

That's what I was thinking. When I get back I hate the thought of having to wait for a hotel shuttle. So if I could get the room for around $60 I would just park at the airport anyway.

I might be taking my oldest DD on a cruise for the May long weekend and the flight to Miami that I want departs at 5:50am. So this would definately require a hotel the night before. I'll know by the end of next week if this is a go or not.

thanks so much, will try this, first time flying out of Buffalo!! :flower3:

Update: My $60 bid was accepted! Thanks. That was my first Priceline experience and it totally rocked.
I had called the hotel directly & thru the toll free # & the best rate I was getting was $130 so you saved
me more than 50% & the staff @ Marriott assured me that parking is free so that is great too. Thanks again.

Your Welcome! Glad it worked out for you and you will enjoy the hotel.

We always stay at the Hampton Inn Galleria, only because we're HHpoints members, and we do a lot of shopping between the mall, target and borders. It's only a 10 min drive in the morning to the airport. Yes the price is a bit more, but they do have park n fly rate, very comfy beds, and a pool/hot tub that we usually always take advantage of. Breakfast is free, and if you're flying too early to take advantage of it, they do have brown bags to go.

I'll be staying on Wed night this week, so I can offer a review when we get back! I'm staying on my dads free points (wasn't that sweet of him!), and parking at the airport. It was a difference of $5 to do the park n fly with them or park at the airport with a coupon, so for 5 bucks, my type A personality says "airport"!:rotfl:
