Recent experiences buying WDW GCards w/Walgreens GCard

Anyone have recent experience of successfully buying Disney Gift Cards with a Walgreens Gift Card?
I have enough MyPoints to get a Walgreens Gcard, but I want to be able To use it to get a WDW GCard.
If I can't do that, I don't want to waste my points on the Walgreens card.
I don't shop there enough to ever use a $50 gift card.

I remember in the past, people posting and saying that if you just scan the card, rather than asking the clerk about using it, the register will accept it.
However, if you ask about it, they will usually say no.

Anybody have recent info?

I have not done this recently but ordered walgreens GC a couple weeks ago to try and will let you know. Should get it any day now. Hopefully still works. Like you said I never ask- just scan it.

I traded IGH points for a walgreens giftcard and purchased 2 $25. Disney giftcards with it. YOU CANNOT, however, PURCHASE GIFTCARDS WITH A MERCHANDISE CREDIT from walgreens...(I learned that the hard way, buying a card from RAISE.)

I have been wondering the same thing. Just got enough MyPoints for a Walgreens GC, but hadn't seen anything recently so was hesitant about cashing in for it. I have had terrible luck with it in the past. I always get stopped, but for some reason my husband hasn't had any trouble. Guess he's better at distracting the cashier from watching what card he is swiping!

I guess, I'll join in waiting to see what maria's_mommy finds out!

I used a my points walgreens GC and another walgreens GC I had from another promotion. I bought a $100 Disney GC HOWEVER, I did have about $10 worth of other items and I didn't have any problems. I did this last week . I think the key is have something else. I get 3-4 My points GC a year and this is how I use them. YMMV

I've heard this before, so that's my plan. I NEED to get my Disney gift cards. LOL

YUP. I just swiped the Walgreens giftcard when it asked for payment...no probs, but I did not ask permission from the cashier either!

Finally got it, no problems using it. Bought a toy also and had a 2 yr old talking nonstop to distract.

I will go ahead and order the Walgreens card and hope that it works for me as well!
Wish I had asked about this before I wasted an extra 550 points on a Walmart card last month!

You must shop there enough to rack up enough points for a $50 Walgreens gift card? Confused? Why wouldn't you be able to use said gift card?

No, the Walgreens gift card is being earned on a survey site.
The question is whether or not it can be used at Walgreens to purchase a WDW gift card.
