Recent Disneyland GAC Changes

Ok, here is my expireince:
  1. It took A LOT to get the pass that actually met my individual needs (I won't go into details; however, I did try the other pass that they suggested and it did NOT work.
  2. Once I did get the right pass, I have found all CMs to be more than accomodating, even in places that accomodations were difficult, they still did what they could do.
  3. The only issues that I have had is with the locations of the viewing areas for World of Color (please see my other thread).

I am one of those that has the invisible issues and may need assistance. I am planning on getting a wheelchair for AK and EPCOT because we will be there all day and they have the most walking.

My biggest issue besides walking will be any attraction with stairs. I have stamina and breathing issues as well as others due to CHF. I think I can handle the line queues especially if we are getting FP. Also we are going at a historically low crowded time. I don't "look" sick and would probably get the accusation of trying to pass off my issue as "pheony baloney" and as if I am trying to pull a fast one or scam someone.

When I go to rent the actual wheelchair will I be asked why I need it and why I think I should be allowed to have one? Or should I just rent one at home and drive it over. I think it will be cheaper anyways and I have used that company before. If I have a w/c will I really need a GAC?

If I "try" to get a GAC (for stairs) I know I will be asked what my needs are. I know what my needs are too. "Stairs, can't do em unless you want me to take 5 minutes to get up em." Ugh this is making me fret.....:sad2:

You will not be asked any questions or for any proof to rent a wheelchair or an ECV. This is true whether you rent in a park or from an off-site.

If you bring the wheelchsir into lines, you will bypass any stairs.

Thank you for your reassurance and info!! I am hoping to avoid any possible unpleasant encounter with a CM or even guest who feels that I am not worthy of assistance.
