We just got back from an amazing trip 12/14-12/19 and wanted to share what I thought of some of the restaurants that we ate at. We did not have any bad meals at all, they ranged from good to excellent.

Dinners:
Narcoosse's: The best meal my wife and I have ever had. The crabcake and shrimp and grits appetizers were teriffic. The steak and lobster were amazing, as well as the almond cheesecake. The service(Janet was our waitress) was the best of the trip as well.
Yachstmen: A close 2nd - probably the second best meal that we ever had. The white gulf shrimp appetizer was the best app I have ever eaten and the filet was perfect. Sufficient service, but nothing overwhelming.
Le Cellier: A good meal, but not nearly as good as the above. Everything was pretty good, but nothing fantastic. We have eaten here every trip and it was always our favorite meal, but not this time. I wasn't dissapointed, but wasn't wowed either.

Lunch:
Teppan Edo: Enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Fun atmosphere and good food. I wasn't crazy about the thin noodles, but all of the meats were very good.
The Wave: I had the burger and it was very good.
Grand Floridan Cafe: As good as the burger was at Wave, the lobster burger here blew it out of the water. Maybe the best burger that I ever had. Desserts were very good as well.
T Rex: Fun atmosphere. I wish it wasn't quite as loud, but it wasn't enough to hamper our experience. The nachos were good and the flatbread was very good as apps. The flat iron steak was much better than I thought it would be, but I didn't care for the scallops.

Breakfast:
Akershus: This was our only breakfast meal of the trip, but it was wonderful. The food was pretty good, but the character interaction was phenomonal. My 2 year old daughter had the time of her life here with the princesses. There was at least 1 princess at our table the majority of our meal and they were awesome. We used to go to Cinderella's Royal Table just for this experience, but found this to have better food and much better value at only 1 table service required.

Sounds like a great trip thanks for taking the time to let us know about your experiences.

A few meals that I forgot to add:

Hollywood and Vine: Ate here for lunch as my daughter loves Disney Junior. The food was not nearly as bad as most reviews seem to state in my opinion. Nothing earth shattering, but not bad at all for a buffet. The characters here were great, each one of them came to our table at least twice during our 1 hour meal. They also have a "dance party" with one of the characters every 15 minutes or so, which was lots of fun for my daughter. With the limited options for food at Hollywood Studios, this was well worth it.

Tusker House: We had a 10:45 reservation here, so were able to enjoy both the breakfast and lunch dishes as they switch out at about 11:15. Very good quality food for a buffet, with good character interaction as well. It is a little hectic in the restaurant now since it became a character meal a few years ago, but remains a must do for us every trip.

Hoop Dee Doo revue: This was so much fun. The show was great for both children and adults. The food was pretty good, standard country fare of fried chicken, baked beans, corn and ribs. The food could have been horrible and I still would have enjoyed it, but it was a nice added bonus, along with the beer and wine that was included. This particular meal will never be forgotten because they chose my dad to go up on stage and make him "the star of the show" and put him in a pink tu tu with angel wings!

thank you so much for your reviews...

I love Akershus breakfast too..with or without the grandkids...food was good and the princesses were amazing..

thanks again

Thanks for the reviews! We're looking forward to Grand Floridian Cafe in April.

I have to agree about Teppan Edo noodles. In Sept. the noodles were wider and much better. We went again in Dec. and they had replaced them with thin noodles. Those noodles are not as good and were actually kind of crunchy. We didn't care for them & were disappointed. Hopefully, they'll go back to the wider noodles that we liked.

Thank you for your review of HDDR. We plan on going this trip for the first time. Where did you sit? We have the dining plan and plan on using two credits for it.
