Recent Cruisers - Pirate's Night ?

Having read that the Pirate Night deck party is something that shouldn't be missed I was wondering if anyone had tips for the best place to be to take everything in. Is this a deck party where you would want to be on the dance floor (or close to it) or is it better to be on deck 10 to see everything?

Just got off the 10/2 crusie and the pirate party was a blast!!!!!!!!!!
We stayed on the dance floor and by far was the best place to be in the center of the action. You also get a great look from deck 10. It depends if you feel like getting into the crowd!!!Our children were dancing with Captain Hook. But all the characters made a special apperance....Have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How were people dressed for pirate night?? Did most still dress tropical or did they go pirate instead??

This sounds like a new event since we sailed last summer. What cruise is it on? Any other details?

On our 9/11 cruise, most people dressed in their tropical attire for Pirate's Night. The servers put a bandana on your head before dinner begins, so everyone gets into the theme.

FYI, Disney Store online has Captain Hook costumes on sale. They would be really cute if you are travelling with little ones!

Deb--I think Pirate's Night has replace tropical/mexicali night on all 7 night Magic cruises. Our cruise was scheduled to be a Western itinerary, but changed to Eastern due to the hurricanes. Perhaps someone else can confirm that Pirate's Night is on all 7 day cruises.

We loved the pirate party on our 9/27 Western cruise. Most people were dressed in tropical attire with their bandanas from dinner. We were on Deck 10 and loved it. There was the cutest family dancing around in their PJS and there was this man who was asleep on the stacked up deck chairs--photographer took a pic of him. At the end of the party, somebody woked him up--he sat up and put his hearing aids back in.
