Recent cruisers, please answer the following questions....Thanks so much!!!

1. Who is our captain?
2. Who is our cruise director?
3. Is Ian (Cruise Staff), Robin (Cruise staff), Jessica (Entertainment/Kids), Allie (Counselor), Salvator (Palos).....still there?
4. Is Mousketeer still being played?
5. Has any 3 - 4 yr old experienced the new Aladdin kids program?
6. Any of you have late seating with little kids? Your opinion?
7. If a tree falls in the forest and no one is around, does it still make a sound?

Thanks so much for any or all answers you can provide! And we hope all of you who answer had a great cruise! We are looking forward to ours!!!

Ummmmm.....Wonder or Magic?

Sorry...the Magic. Guess I should have mentioned that. (However, those on the Wonder could probably also answer the 'tree in the forest' question.)

I just scanned the 4/5 eastern nav's

1. Tom
2. Rick
3.
4. Mousketeer is still on the Magic, not the Wonder
5.
6. Since we don't have kids, we always do second seating, and our observation is little kids sometimes sleep thru dinner.
7. Of course, the sound waves are still produced

Last I heard Ian and Robin both have departed from DCL. I am sailing on 5/17 and will find out more info if I can.

I thought Hans Solo who is onboard now said the captain of the Magic was Capt. John this week. Anyone else read that or am I dreaming?

MJ

According to Capt Tom, the March 29th Magic had Captain Hook at the helm!!!!!

Well glad I am not crazy...I thought I read that it was Capt Jon now....I guess he will our Captain on the 5/17 cruise then...good I have never sailed with him before!!

MJ

After having Marko and Salvatore (two brothers who are our favorite Palo servers) over the past 4 cruises we were saddened to hear they would be leaving the Magic in May and June. They plan to return to Italy and open a business together. We'll certainly miss both of them!

Also Rick, the cruise director, said that at the end of our 4/5 cruise Capt. Tom was taking a well deserved 2 month vacation!

We always ask for the late seating. We have a dd5 and a ds9. We prefer it because of the flexibility of extending our day in case we decide to miss the show or have the kids eat early with their clubs!

Thanks for all the responses!

Salvatore and Marco LEAVING????? I know this has been their dream for a long time. So, while we are sad for us, we are happy for them!

Anyone have the list of current movies on board?

GoofyDadeo...please give some of your wisdom regarding eating late seating with kids. Did you simply feed them Topsiders or room service every night, or did they daty up and eat with you? Any pointers or tips would be appreciated!

We had Sal for our Palo Brunch and it's true that he will be leaving. He was lots of fun to chat with! He was on his way to getting his brother a birthday gift during our cruise...getting his ear pierced...said his mom would be very mad but he didn't care!

Yes, I can imagine that "his-a momma would no be so happy if he-a comes-a home-a wit an earring".

I was on the MAgic on 3/1-3/8/03 and at that time Ian was still there. He was planning on a "holiday" back to London a week later but he made no mention of leaving for good. I hope he is still there when I when I cruise again in Sept.

I was on the Magic March 8th thru the 15th.
Rick was our cruise director, Captain Tom our captain.
Ian was there and when I talked to him after Art of Entertaining, he told me his holiday started after the 15th cruise but he was coming back, I've seen other posts to that effect here so I don't know.
We had Salvatore as our server in Palo and he was great.
We had one table with little kids seated across from us, and they moved after the first night because their daughter (under 1 year) was too late for her and she was very fussy.

BunnyFooFoo - having cruised 5 times we switched to the late seating on our 2nd cruise! It's great. First, you have more time to do what you want before dinner - you could even go to the show before you dress for dinner (there is about 1 hour between the end of the show and the 8:30 seating). Also, we found that our kids really enjoying hanging out in the oceaneers club/lab instead of being around through a 3 or 4 course dinner. Several times during the week they choose to have dinner while in the club/lab and that gives us an extra "date" night (in addition to our Palo night). But the real key here is if your servers are entertainers too. Many of the servers know magic tricks, can made hundreds of items out of cloth napkins, etc. and they keep the kids very entertained, so watch out - the kids may want to come to dinner for the entertainment. No matter what happens you're going to have a great time!!!
