I am trying to choose an activity for our family (including a 4 and 7 year old). DS really wants to snorkel but DD is too young for the Disney excursions:guilty:

Has anyone gone to Coki beach lately? There have been reports of open drug deals and violence in the past few years, just wondering if the area has been cleaned up and if it is family friendly now.

We just went last week and loved Coki beach. The cab (safari) ride over was crazy though, our driver got in a fight with another driver and sped off angrily. In hindsight we could have done without coral world, not worth the $48 we paid (for 2 adults and a child). But the beach was wonderful, beautiful soft sand and $10 for snorkel rental, we saw so many fish. My 40year old even put on a mask that we brought from home (no snorkel tube) and held his breath and was able to see some fish. There were iguanas roaming the beach but it felt safe. Lots of other families were there. Thankfully we had a better driver back to port and that ride wasn't as scary.
