Today I received a DisneyWorld Postcard which offers a 7 or more night stay (including Ultimate Park Hopper Tickets) at a Value Resort for the rate of $538 per person. The trip must be booked by 5/22/2004 and is available from 7/5/2004 through 8/28/2004.

Is this a good deal or would I be better off booking the trip components separatetly?

Is that $538 for 7 nights with tix???? If so that is a good deal. That's less than $80/nt including the tickets! Take it!

It depends if room only codes come out for that time period. If they do you may do better buying park hoppers and booking room only. And do you plan to go into the parks everyday? If you're only spending like 4 or 5 days in the parks and maybe doing one water park day I think a park hopper will be cheaper.

But if no room only codes come out soon I'd say this is a good deal.

It would also depend on how many people you were putting in that room. If it's 4, it would be 538x4=$2152! Rack rate for value resorts is $99, so it would not be such a good deal then.

The trip must be booked by 5/22/2004 and is available from 7/5/2004 through 8/28/2004.

I may be wishful thinking, but if the dates start 7/5, maybe that's a sign the new codes are coming also starting that date! Please, oh please!

That's PER PERSON, more than likely based on double occupancy, so she would need 2 people and the price would be $1076. Still not a bad deal though.

is it likely that the next set (if any) of AP resort rates will be for the same dates? If so, that leaves me out. We are scheduled to come in 9/10. I'm hoping that Labor Day weekend (the preceding week) doesn't ruin my my chance for room only discounts. I think the Mickey Monitor is coming out in May, isn't it? I would hate to wait for the Sept one to find out about Sep rates...

Thank you for the replies!

Great minds think alike! I am also wondering if perhaps this postcard is an indication of the dates of the upcoming discounts. I would really prefer to go in September, so I hope I'm wrong.

As far as this particular deal goes, here is exactly what the card says: "For $538* per adult (based on double occupancy), you'll get a seven or more night stay as well as our Ultimate Park Hopper Ticket that gives you admission to all four Theme Parks and more. This rate is available most nights 7/5/04 to 8/28/04. The number of packages available at this price is limited though, so be sure and book soon!"

I agree with those who said that with two people in a room, it's not a bad deal - with more in the room, it's not so great.

By the way, I received this postcard only a few weeks after requesting a Disney Vacation Planning Guide.

Is that $538 per person in a Value resort? If so, you'd save a few dollars off the regular Dreamaker package price for those dates.

For more than 2 people, the chances are that the 3rd and 4th person in the same room would not be charged the full $538. They would stay at a pro-rated rate based on whether they are adults, juniors or children.

If you're planning to stay at least 7 days and getting UPHs anyway, this might be worthwhile. However, with new codes due to come out soon (rumor has it FL & AP rates by 4/30 and codes for the general public bt 5/8), you might do better with room-only and PHPs that you purchase thru a ticket broker.

I'd wait it out a few days.

Ah, that per person rate always fouls me up! It still sounds pretty good.
