Our glass shower is 3 years old and mold is starting to grow under areas of the clear caulk. Other areas are wearing down. So we think we need to recaulk it. A friends husband is a handyman and quoted $75 including materials to do it. Since it would likely take me quite a few hours to remove all the old caulk and do the new caulk it sounds like a good deal. Plus I work full time and have a 4 year old son so he keeps me busy. DH is NOT handy - at all - so he cant do it.

Anyone that has done this - what do you think? Is it worth it to pay that?

It's not hard to do; you can probably do this yourself for less than $10 but it is a little bit time-consuming. It will take you about an hour to get the old caulk out. It's a little messy, but you can sweep it up. Then you clean the glass and let it dry for a couple hours. Then you recaulk it, which goes pretty fast.

With all the other stuff you have on your plate I can see why you want to hire it out, though. I guess you have to ask yourself how much your own time is worth? More than $75? or would you rather save the money? Everyone has a different answer.
