Rec for 1 night during the weekend before Thanksgiving

We will be at BRV with family the Sat-Tues before Thanksgiving. We just found out that flying in that Friday, rather than Saturday, will allow us to use miles for everyone, which is a huuuuuge savings since we're west coast. Now with an extra night and much more room in the budget, we are hoping to check out a resort that we haven't been to before that *might* also be decked out for Christmas (I realize decs are not guaranteed until closer to Thanksgiving).

Our plan is to get up on Saturday, have luggage services transfer our bags, and head to a park TBD after checkout. We'll be in the bubble around 6 pm Friday, so we're looking at dinnertime Friday until 11 am Saturday. It's me, DH, DS6 and DS4. Our choices are: Contemp, YC, GF, POR, AoA or Poly villas. What would you choose?

If you are looking for stunning Christmas decor, book GF. They have a huge tree and a life-size gingerbread house. It’s gorgeous. IMHO, GF and WL have the Christmas displays of all the resorts!

I second Grand Floridian. The gingerbread house! I can just imagine the children's excitement. (Tip: buy yourself a snack at the house)

I will also second either the GF or WL. We are DVC members at GFV and love the Christmas decorations. We are going to be there over thanksgiving week and I’m looking forward to seeing my 18 month old’s reaction when she sees the gingerbread house and huge tree. Also, WL has very nice decorations. Personally, I think WL with its decorations feels very festive with the fireplace going as well.

Another supporter of with GF or WL. If it's only for 1 night, if it were me, I'd go GF. Could make the park decision easy for the next morning as well.

If you are looking for dining options on your arrival day, I can't say enough good things about the Grand Floridian Cafe. We discovered this on our trip last September and it has quickly shot up the list for must do's. You would also resort hop along the monorail ( get over to Poly for their Dole whip machine if you are fans ). You'll also have a great spot for fireworks and the Electric Water Pagent.

Thank you for the advice! I went with GF. Thank you for the info on the Grand Floridian cafe! I made a dinner reservation there for our first night and got 1900 PF for the next morning. I'm super excited to try out the Grand!
