I am cruising in December 2006, last cruise was January 2004. I know, I know, what's been the hold up. We bought DVC on that cruise and the last two trips have been to WDW instead. But I am so missing cruising!!!! So the next one is December 2006, at this point solo. But I know that I will want to cruise again in 2007. I like a certain type of room, Cat 11 sideways staterooms. So booking early is smart.

So here is the question, If I book when 2007 dates become avaliable, say this October for October 2007, what can happen in December 2006? Can I add on the booking incentives, have heard that others have been able to do this? Will it be a cancel orginal ressie and rebook at current rate? Anyone with personal experience with this situtation, please let in on the know! Thanks

yes it will cancel the orginal ressie and rebook at the current rate. Sometimes this is worth it (the stateroom credit outweighs the rate increase) and sometimes it's not worth it

We had the same situation once. The fare increased so much from the time of our original booking that the shipboard discount and stateroom credits offered did not compensate enough for the higher fare. We ended up keeping our original reservation, which had been booked directly through DCL, then changing it over to Costco when we got home. Costco saved us about $500 on our 7-night cruise by applying their discount.

It all depends on how much the fares have changed since you originally booked.

Thanks all! Looks like we won't get the credit this time either. Don't want to miss out a great cabin.
