Rebook Now or While Onboard?

From what I gathered, the only "discount" provided for rebooking while onboard is the cabin credit. I'll be on the 5/10/03 Western and would like to plan another trip for Aug 03. I presume the EBS is much higher if I rebook now than while onboard next May. Is there any way I can combine the two, EBS and onboard rebooking credits? Another word, can I reserve a cabin now for next Aug. then "transfer" it as a rebooking while onboard next May to get the cabin credits??

I would like to know the same thing. We are cruising in October and want to book for 2004. The price this week is already higher that what we were quoted last week!

Unfortunately to get the Castaway Club credit you MUST book onboard. They will not accept previously made reservations for the credit.

It's a tough call, but with your cruise so far off I'd book it NOW just to get the best EBS. By the time you cruise in May the pricing for the August cruise will probably be much higher than it is now and the savings you get with early booking savings will more than offset the loss of the Castaway Club credit.

we rebook onboard so we can get discounts,,,
we did have the credit applied to a exsisting reservation once and think it was cause we where on #4 and had 5 booked and where booking 6
price did go down for 5 and got ship bouard credit

How much is the current credit for booking on board, and what other incentives do they have. Thinking about booking a Western while on the Eastern next summer, and I would book the Western for the Summer 2004 or later.

The change to the Castaway Club credit (i.e. that you have to book on board to get it) is a change that I really hate. We like to book via Dreams Unlimited when they run their specials, but Disney has turned it into an either/or choice. Royal Caribbean sends coupons for future bookings in their Crown and Anchor magazine (their mag. for return cruisers)...seems to make more sense.

ithink it was a $175.00 credit for cat 7 and it changes for each catagory... and with the disney Special Rate we did ok i think....

We received a $200.00 credit for booking onboard. We knew we could probably get a better deal somewhere else, but we wanted to make sure we got the same room since it was still available for when we wanted to sail. It was cheaper booking through AAA, so we transfered the booking over to them, saved money and still got the room we wanted. Disney's travel insurance was cheaper than AAA's (by $120.00!). It worked out that we were also able to keep the Disney ins..

I booked a December 2003 Western 7 day while on board the Wonder last week. Only difference in price between the on-board offer and the DCL web site is the $200.00 credit.

Disney uses Access America for their travel insurance. A visit to the Access America web site shows that similar travel insurance can be bought for a bit less. There is 10K more Medical Transportation coverage offered in the Disney package.

From all the posts I have read about this, I believe you will get a $200 credit for booking on board.

Depends on what cruise you book. I believe the Wonder cruises get less on-board credit
