Rebel Alliance - Thankful for each other in November (and every month)

Hey fellow Rebels.

I have started Nov off well, running is going good, back on WW, have lost almost 10 lbs since starting 2 1/2 weeks ago.

Hoping that the weather continues to hold out here in upstate NY, I can deal with the cold but snow and ice :scared1:

Veronica - I totally agree with you. Cold is one thing but snow and ice is just intolerable. I feel your pain. WTG on the weight loss. I think I found your 10 lbs and they are living comfortably on my hips. :rotfl:

And I also agree with you. I don't want snow before december 25 and I want it gone on January 2 that way I will be able to do all my long runs on the bike trail where it is flat instead of on the hilly road.
I would like to do the Princess half marathon in March but I don't know how I would train with the very cold weather of January and the snow.
5k done this morning and it was a bit difficult after what is for me my long 8.75 miles yesterday.
Have a nice day

Diane

Hi everyone.. sorry I've been away for so long!!! I was getting my company ready for our HUGE convention in Vegas (some of the guys are still there, but I flew back today) I walked 50+ miles in 3 days.. phew my feet hurt!

Ok, I should be getting back on track with training!!! How's everyone doing???

Bonjour,
My run is done and it was easier than the one I did on Thursday. I went at an easier pace and enjoy seeing 2 deers.
It is shower time and getting ready to go to work this afternoon.

Have a nice week-end all.
Diane

Hello team,

Been lurking mostly but decided to pop in & say hi. :wave2:

Overall, training has been going relatively well. I did my long run of 12 yesterday. I definitely started feeling the stiffness in my hip during the last two miles. The weather has been much better lately, cooling off...at least I don't have ice & snow to contend with.

I can't believe it's November already! This year is definitely speeding by.

I hope everyone is doing well :goodvibes

Happy Training,
Angela

Hi all. No good excuse for being away but I will say that my old computer sucked and now I have a new net book that sits right next to my couch.

Anyway, I started a streak last saturday and got up to 6 days before deciding that my legs hurt a lot and I needed a day off. I don't want to risk an injury and I was pushing it. I think that I am at about 30 miles for the month so far. Glad to hear everyone is doing well.

Hi Rebs!!

Training continues, going well. I am now running inside on the TM at least 2x week, and get outside 2 x week. Todays run was GORGEOUS!!! 50's, ran 6 miles in 1:04:50, 10:48 pace, which for me is absolutely flying!!! Had to walk for about a min half way just to catch my breath.

Have the Turkey Trot coming up on Thanksgiving, that is my last race before Marathon weekend!! Hoping the weather continues to hold out until we go in January.

Glad to see everyone else is doing well, keep up the good work!!:thumbsup2

Yesterday I had a 12 mile long run on tap but opted to replace it with a half marathon. I think it was a little too soon after the full. I was trying not to race it but got caught up in the atmosphere and I swear I feel stiffer today than I did the day after the full. Resting today then I will go out for 5 tomorrow. This week is my first back-to-back week in preperation for Goofy.

Bonjour,
What a beautiful monday: sunny, no wind and 40F. I did my 5 hills and it wasn't too bad. The worst is that the last 600 meters before I arrive home is all uphill: what a way to cool down.
In 8 weeks I will get ready to go to WDW and test all that training :yay:

Hi Everyone! Glad to hear everyone is doing well.

Diane - I hear ya on those hills. I have recently incorporated them in my workout and they always seem to come at the worst time.

Katie - seriously, you're my hero. Nuff said.

Veronica - What a great pace. I hope to be running that fast someday.

AFM, put in 5 miles yesterday. It's my longest ever. Had a new path for the first half of it, finished up on my usual last 2 miles. Weather a warm (high 60's). Felt "hot". But really was great to get out there. I hope I'm able to get faster sometime soon. I just can't seem to pick up my pace. How long does it take before you start to see pace improvements?

Hope the rest of the week is well.

Morning everyone... looks like we're racking up the miles... yay!!!

Its definitely COLD out there... and I've been hating the dreadmill... ugh!

Hi, team. I'm sure everyone has forgotten about me... :sad2: I've been unforgiveably MIA. I lost my groove and gave up on the exercise/running/half marathon dream. But, now I'm back and ready. It's late for me to start my training for the half in January, and I know that, but I'm going to go by the W.I.S.H. motto - DLF -> DNF -> DNS. I may be in the Did Not Finish category, but at least I won't be in the Did Not Start group!

Disney Mommy - Don't give up. I too get into that don't want to train mode more often than not lately. Welcome back! You might surprise yourself with what you are capable of.

Hi All -
I was able to get a couple of miles in both days this weekend. I started Week 4 of C25K - which has me running for 5 minutes! I almost died when I programmed that into my timer. But I am happy to report that I made it through without dying. I was watching The Amazing Race, and I think that helped to distract me :-)

mandac - I remember getting to week four and being astounded at the progress. It really is amazing. Each week I thought I would die if I went a little farther, but it works and you'll surprise yourself.

Walked halfway to work this morning, mile and a half and then had to bus it the rest of the way as I was cutting it close. Still plan on running tonight in this warm weather we're having here.

Another beautiful day and my run is done. It was an easy day and I took it easy. No jacket needed this morning. I am now getting mentally ready for my long run on Thursday. It will be the first time that I do a 15k run since the Minnie Marathon in May 2007.
Have a nice day and enjoy this nice weather.
Diane
