Hope someone can reassure me!!

I posted a thread a while ago saying that I had received vouchers instead of the actual WDW tickets.

Well I sent the vouchers back and asked for the actual tickets instead, as we have an 8:05am PS at CRT on our first morning at WDW and wasnt sure whether the windows would be open in order for us to exchange the vouchers before our PS.

Anyway, received a package today, via registered post, with 3 x adult tickets and 1 x child ticket.

I just want to know that what we have ARE the actual tickets, because the are made from cardboard. They do have the glossy fronts with the Mickey/Minnie etc pictures on.

And the backs do have a black strip across the top, and say Disney Nonrefundable.

Its just that my MNSSHP tickets are made of plastic and are credit-card-type - These ones are a bit flimsy and made of cardboard.

Please tell me Ive got the right ones!!

Also, they say "Ticket and ID required for entry" on the back. Does this mean that the four of us need to take passports to every park?

Please help!

hi lorraine, dont panic! your tickets sound exactly like the ones we had last year, credit card size but cardboard, disney character on front, bar code type strip on back. we didnt need our passports last year, but of course this could have changed, just put card in slot and it pops out just like on the tube, you have to put two fingers in a slot as you put the ticket in, as the machine reads your fingerprint. The first time we used the hopper the machine couldn't read them as we had not linked them up with the finger print, a cast member came straight over to help us with this and took a few seconds. Unfortunately , most of the other times we tried to enter the parks we had to have a cast member to help us with our tickets, as we always forgot who was supposed to have which ticket, goofy, mickey etc. maybe that wont happen to you and you will remember who is supposed to have which ticket, but we were suffering with information overload by the time we finally got to the park, after so much planning!
have a great trip!

Oh Thanks Claire!!

You've put my mind at rest! Bit confused as to putting the card in a slot, and having fingerprints taken at the same time, but Im sure we'll work it out!!

I get to be Minnie!!!!

Thanks again,

I was surprised that the tickets are still so flimsy considering the cost, especially in case they get soaked on wet rides. Why don't disney make them plastic? - much better for a keepsake too.

I didn't know about this fingerprint check- new since my last visit in 2001. Just checked my tickets and we've 2 donald ducks! There's no way I'd let my boys carry there own tickets so is it ok to mark the tickets in some way or could that cause problems at the turnstiles?

Hi
Just wanted to share a great tip i picked up on the boards. Photocopy all your park tickets (and passports too) i think if your tickets are then lost Disney will replace as you have proof of the serial numbers. We bought our tickets from a company on line and i shared your exact concerns when they turned up. I think i too was expecting plastic ones! Hope this helps,
Rachael

ann, not sure about marking the tickets, maybe a moustache for one donald! it does get quite confusing, especially as you are getting your tickets out all the time for fastpasses during the day. I have read the tip about photocopying tickets and its a really good idea, although did not read it before we went last year, i was so paranoid about losing them, so much money for a few pieces of card!
