Reasonable flight prices for august 2008

Is it better to wait for last minute deals for a holiday for 2 adults and 3 teenagers in august next year?

If you want flight only then no, Scheduled flights do not come down the nearer you get(usually) Airlines do have sales but not normally for August.
We once flew with 1 day notice to Florida in August, ended up using TCD and paid more than if we had booked 11 months out.
Very difficult geting good prices for August. I am even considering indirect flights from Heathrow next August as I can save over £600 (£200 each) compared to Manchester direct.
Can't help with packages, too expensive for us.

your other problem is your effectively waiting for 5 seats at a peak time of year.. Sometimes its easy to pick up a couple of seats that agencies such as flightbookers airline network etc etc have left for scheduled, once you add more people to the equation your chances go down.. Your best bet would be to keep scanning the sales pages on websites for Virgin if your not bothered when in August it is.. But Im afraid the simple answer is "who knows" and is the saving worth your piece of mind..
