All hail the Queen of Broadway.
You can;t get a man with a gun, but belting in his face is.
Ethel Merman can't be wrong!
Well....she did do a disco album.![]()
Hey, that album has my favorite version of "Something for the Boys"!
I know not this song.![]()
I didn't either. But it was the first version I ever heard... so naturally, it became my go-to!
Same thing with me and "Walking in Memphis". I heard the Cher version first and now don't like the original version. Or the *shudders* Lonestar version.![]()
Yes! Exactly. I just wish Cher would face facts and do a proper Elvis tribute or Country/Rock album. She has that unique twang to her voice that would be perfect. Or a Dolly Duets album. Oh God now you've done it. I'm all salivating for what will never be.
I thought I read somewhere that La Cher had wanted to do an album of Jazz standards, which I think would be pretty neat. I'm debating whether or not to listen to Cyndi's new CD. The concept just seems odd to me. But I loved the At Last album. I live my life by cover CD's ("Medusa" by Annie Lennox and "Strange Little Girls" by Tori Amos are my life story........in a sad, sad twisted way).
I'm with you on "Medusa". That has to be the most perfect covers album ever... it's as if they began and ended with her. I'm looking forward to Cyndi's blues album, despite the underwhelming first single.
And as long as Cher does something, anything but disco, I'll be happy. Burlesque notwithstanding Girl needs to change it up!
I facepalmed all the way through the trailer for Burlesque. I mean seriously! Seriously?! When did knock off Fosse chreography become burlesque? A pox on both their houes. Or something.
On paper, Cher, Cabaret, and Chicago sound promising. But then... so did Nine. And then there's that whole awkward moment where the protagonist opens her mouth and sounds like Christina Aguilera.
Its like A Star Is Born. Only not good. At least they didn't do the remake of that with JLo I heard was rumored.
We may have dodged that bullet, but now there's a version with Beyonce and Russell Crowe in the works.
I just gotta ask....are you both single? Cuz you sure have a lot in common....Just saying.......![]()
