Did you get the dining rotation you requested?

We are interested in the REAS (surprise for my DH) but I want to know what my chances are of getting the dining rotation I request...

Thanks
I shall now join over-planners anonymous... :rotfl:

Not me!!! But that was o.k., I just went with the flow :confused3 and it worked out just fine.

which one did you request? Early or late Seating?

Just to clarify....early or late seating is not considered the "ROTATION". The Rotation is the order in which you dine in the restaurants....example....start at Lumiere's, the Animators, then Parrot Cay and so on....

You should be able to request early or late dining without the REAS package...unless the one you want is already at capacity then possibly the REAS package may help....but you can also just be put on a waitlist.

When people book REAS to get a certain dining rotation they are referring to the order of the restaurants.

thanks mmouse...I was hoping to get APL for my rotation but trying to figure out if people in early seating have had luck getting their prefered rotation and if people in late seating (like we have) have had better or worse luck getting their desired rotation.

I'm so complicated... ;)

We did the REAS package last year, and yes we were pleasantly surprised that we got the ROTATION we requested.

We just got back from 02/26 Western cruise & had the REAS package. I requested the APL rotation & did not get it. When we boarded the ship I tried to have it changed but was told the first/main dinner seating was completely full & therefore, no changes could be made. I met another DISer on the cruise who had late dinner seating & she WAS able to change her rotation.

Hope that helps! :)

We had late dining on our western cruise. I requested APL via the REAS package and we got it :sunny:

we did REAS on our October 2004 Western cruise - had late seating and requested APL when we made our Palo / Spa ressies with Debbie (I think I did this in August 2004).

We were very happy to find out on embarkation day that we received our requested rotation.

Everybody wants to be in Lumiere's on formal night. :goodvibes

I was on the 2/26 cruise and requested LAP rotation and got it. We also requested late seating and got that also. Debbie booked out massages and Palo's dinner and brunch. It was really worth $339 to not have to rush on board to make ressies. The romantic turndown was awesome too! They filled the living area with balloons and we had champagne and Disney Cruise Line champagne glasses to keep! (among other things). I suggest you call Debbie...sorry I don't have the # anymore!

We got our requested rotation and seating time. We also made our all our Palo ressies, dinner, brunch and tea along with our spa reservations. The only thing we had to decided on the ship was which morning we wanted our special breakfast. We even ordered extra for the kids! REAS is the best deal going and it is worth every penny!!!

Which dining room is it optimal to be in for formal night?

Romantic Escape At Sea -

You get a couples massage, champagne breakfast one morning, you get to pre book reservations at Palo, The night you dine at palo, your room steward decorates your room with rose petals and champagne on ice, also when you board, there is a gift in your room - I think that is about it - I am still trying to decide if I want to book it!

How far in advance can you make your reservations and who do you call?

If you're using a TA have your TA add the REAS to your cruise. If you booked with DCL directly, then call them and add the REAS to your cruise.

Once it's added, the textbook response is they will call you to book your ressies about a month prior to your cruise. However, if you're anxious, you can call DCL dining directly but they can't book you until about 90 days prior to your cruise. If you call too early DCL dining will ask you to call back.

Also, I was told by DCL dining that in about a month those who booked a REAS will have the ability to book their own ressies online. Now I'm not sure if that only applies to those who booked their cruise through DCL directly or not. Hope that helps. :teeth:
