A word of warning on the REAS packages. During your vacation you will see the charges for the massages show up on your cabin account. They are suppose to be removed by the end of the cruise in theory.

I'm in the waiting process to get my money back from DCL. I went down day after day waiting to see the charges reversed. The last day I went down and they showed me on the bill where the charge had been reversed...only one problem and it was one I couldn't figure out until a few hours later when I was sitting in a hotel. I was actually double charged. The charge for the massage was reversed, but I was also charged again for the massage+tip. The massage portion had not been reversed. So I am currently out $89 which was going to be part of gas money to get home :( And when you're on a tight budget that does hurt.

All this to say check your account statement before you get off the ship . I was told it would be 7 business days before anyone can even look at the account now!! Nice to know they're happy to take the money right away but not so willing to refund it. The first thing my father said is he had heard of disney billing errors in the past. (New to me) This whole thing which literally started the monday of the cruise has literally hung over the whole trip and did aggravate me. I'll be going through the bill again with a fine tooth comb when I reach the home tomorrow.

I don't want to see anyone else go through this hassle, please watch those accounts :wave2:

That is interesting. I just booked REAS for our cruise next month. Hope I don't have the same problem. I am curious about one thing. When I booked, I was told someone would contact me to make my Palo and spa ressies. How long does it take for them to contact you? I just booked last week, but we sail in three weeks.

On my last cruise there was a couple at the guest services counter having major problems with there bill. I fine tooth combed my bill the evening before leaving the ship. Good luck :wizard:

REAS was a snap for us .. had OTHER billing issues with DCL

But I do agree, go over your statement with a fine toothed comb (REAS or not) before disembarking the ship.

Did you pay for that when you booked it over the phone? I did, so why would they charge you again on board? Please let me know, thanks Linda

I did have the package completely paid for at the same time as my cruise. They said in lamen terms..something to do with record keeping. I wish I had my bill the night before disembarking. Didn't see it until 6am day of disembarkation and I was pretty groggy courtesy of the announcement over the PA (in the rooms :( ) not to smoke because they were refueling. Nice wake up call. Plus I was off the boat at 7:45am to make WDW and meet up with the folks for the second part of the vacation. Ughh.. have to call DCL tomorrow and see why they haven't called yet.

As for reservations...one of the kind folks here can give you Deb's phone number at DCL. I have it in my half unpacked stuff somewhere. I had my ressies in place back in late December and sailed April 2. Longer you wait the less likely you'll get your time slots. However I found no problem getting the second massage on a sea day on board. (7 day cruise though) And a emergency ankle/foot massage within about an hour of calling. (old sprained ankle fired up on me after St. Maarten, massage relieved the pain :) Literally had sat for two hours waiting for it to go away!).

Can anyone out there give me the direct number for REAS Palo & spa ressies? I'm getting nervous....I sail in less than three weeks and want to get that squared away. Thanks!

Just to let you all know, I took matters into my own hands. I called DCL and told them I wanted something that said that my REAS was paid in full so that this problem wouldn't happen to me. First they faxed me a bill for the cruise with no mention of the REAS saying I'm paid in full. No good. Then they faxed me a letter that said my reservation was confirmed. Still No Good. Then finally, they faxed me a letter saying my REAS package was paid in full. I will bring that letter with me. Thanks for the heads up!!!!!!

I want to make sure I have this staight. The REAS is pre-paid so it shouldn't be charged to your on-board account? I just booked it last week and sail in two weeks, so I probably won't have my credit card bill before we leave to see if it is on there. Just making sure I understand!

Spoke to DCL yesterday and I am being sent a letter about a refund being issued. The rep could not tell me how much the refund was for only that it can take up to 30 days to see it back on my card :( 6 weeks to get it back, glad I made a note of the billing issue on my comment card! Almost wish I got a followup email or call from DCL on this.

Nope I questioned and questioned why they charged the REAS spa treatment to my account since it was paid in full in January with my normal reservation. Its charged but is reversed for bookeeping purposes was there constant response. Hopefully you won't have a problem with a double charge. I think if I ever go on a cruise again I'll be putting down travelor checks and not a card. Plus probably go ahead and skip the spa. This has been a headache.

Just make sure you dispute before you leave the ship if there is a problem and remember when your cabin charge hits $400 they do charge your card.
I had a bad expierence but hopefully no one else will because you all know to keep an eye on it! :)

In case Deb's number was not provided for REAS reservations (just found it a few minutes ago) :407-566-7411

On my March 2005 DCL when charges hit $200 they charged my card. :mickeybar They said it was standard procedure at $200 I had credit on my disney reward card that I wanted to use. So they credited my card back and I used my reward points. Next time I will put the rewards points on my ship board credit on the first night. :flower:

Life, learn and read the dis board :grouphug:

In November we did a REAS couples massage. When the massage girls brought us our slips at the end it simply said REAS and left room for a tip.
We filled in the amounts that we were tipping and wrote it in the total area.
That is all that was ever charged to our account. :flower:

I have the REAS, and based on what's been posted I am bringing a copy of my statement that says I have paid. Just to play it safe. :flower:

Well wasn't actually going to tell this part of the story. I did get the run around from one gal at guest services (evidently uninformed) but she told me you have to pay for your massages ontop of the package which got a "what the ???" from me. I told her I would be back with my TA's information that I of course forget to bring. So I hopped online to get the information from the website. Of course when I got back she was gone, got a guy who gave the same story as the others about billing/refunding thing. I'll be yelling for my few $$'s back for the internet if I'm not refunded correctly for the massage. From the other posts I'm getting the feeling DCL and Spa do what they want in billing for the massages. :badpc:
