I had bought two for gifts and am so unhappy with the quality of the pics. I had a 3 megapixel point and shoot before and the quality from these Disney cameras are nowhere near. :( (Disney Pix Max for 79.99)

I'm packing them back up and taking them back to Best Buy. I guess I'll try to exchange for a regular digital. The kids love the character add-ins, but I bought mostly for them to take on vacation and their pics wouldn't turn out well at all.

I'm completely bummed, I was so excited.

How dissappointing :(. I was also thinking of getting one for grandson before our next disney trip. :(

I was lucky enough to get in on the BB sale where it was $49 for the max camera. I am sure it is not as good as most other 3MP cameras out there, but the price could not be beat. My DD has taken some pics, but she has not downloaded any yet.

Let me know how they come out, will you? They looked ok on the display, but I downloaded them tonight and they are all cruddy. I put the card back in and took some myself thinking it was the kids, but same thing.

It will not be for a week, b/c she is step-DD and went with camera to dad's for a week starting yesterday.

Based on the other cams in the $50 range, even if the shots are pretty bad, they probably compare reasonably well to others in the same class. I probably would not have bought it at $80 b/c you can get a major brand one for $5 more. I do like the software with it.

Another thing that I just though about; was the digital zoom used?

Kevin

glad i didn't spring $$ for one for grandbaby... i found a freebie digital i forgot about and she is perfectly happy putting it up to her eye and clicking the off and on and shutter so the batteries ought to last about an hr...evidently doesn't get the actual "photo" concept yet:lmao:

I bought one of those little ones but haven't tried it yet. Anyone use that kind? My DDs has Ariel on it and it is very small. Anyone get the one that adds the character to the pic right away? Is that the one you are talking about? Mine came with software. Anyone try the software out?

Ours went bad after about 1 hr of use. It would not even turn on. I found the flash either didn't flash when it should or washed out the picture but we may have had a dud. Best Buy's online return policy stinks. No in store exchanges just refunds so /I would have had to pay full price for a new one.:confused3

Here's a few pics, they took a ton of them and I tested them as well. Same results either way. :( I can see it from a camera that's under $50, but if they want $80 for a camera then it needs to be better than this IMO.

I know a lot of people bought them to take to WDW - I'd be bummed if I had taken them and their pics looked like this. Sorry for ranting, I had high hopes. Heck, I bought Mom a 5 mp Fuji at Wolf on Christmas Eve for $80. (that also came w/ the free photo printer) I just thought the Disney tie-in was cool.

shelly3girls - We had the same flash problem.

Any outdoor pics? One thing on the software I noticed; you need to enable layers to get the best usability.

happy brat pack...such cute pics! to bad they aren't clearer, i'd be bummed to...do you think noiseware could at least help clean them up enough to be usable? espec. the one of the older lady with the crown...so cute!
i wouldn't have expected a dslr comparable camera but yeah for $80 i'd want something better than that...do you know who makes them for disney?
i'd take them back if i could and get something else but that is never fun to do with gifts.

My daughter got the 3mp camera for Christmas. The pics on the screen look ok, but downloaded they are a fuzzy.

One thing she's having a hard time with is holding the camera still while the pic takes. It's a bit of a delay. But she loves the character option in the pictures.

While the quality of pictures is not awesome, she would be heartbroken if I took it back. I guess I never expected them to be unbelievable shots, but it is interesting to see the world through her eyes.

I must say the battery power is much better than I expected, considering she had it on most of Christmas day!

Nice ;)
Moving onto the camera, I would expect out of all retailers that Disney would come up with a good product. Well, they did, but it obviously shows that they need to go back to the drawing board or they'll be getting some complaints.

You can add the mix stick(?) MP3 player to the dud list. We got one for DD last X-mas. First one was DOA. Second one had a dead channel. Third one was a refund and purchase of a different brand.

so i guess the moral of the story at least i will try to remember is disney makes good theme parks, canon /apple /pentax /nikon /fill it your own /makes good electronics ;)

I agree. I always try to avoid the cheaper products made for kids but I was hoping this would be different b/c of the Disney name. I was wrong. Thank goodness we found our old Canon for DD to use and she is thrilled with it.

My daughter's camera started shutting off on Saturday after Christmas. I changed the batteries, and it wouldn't come back on at all. So I took it back to Best Buy today (bought for $49.99 on Black Friday on BB.com). They were just going to refund my money. I asked if I could exchange, and they okayed it. (Explained it was my daughter's gift from Santa, already had to explain that Santa left the receipt.) They didn't have anymore, so I asked if they'd honor the price when they got more in. Seems it's a seasonal item and they aren't getting any more in. So I ask if any other stores have them, she says yes.

I then ask if a mgr would sign off that the other store would honor the sale price. The mgr tells me he could sign off until he's blue in the face, but no other store HAS to honor it. I am practically in tears now, telling him how do I explain to my daughter that Santa messed up. So they call another store and they ok the price.

Then the clerk tells me they've had two others returned for just mysteriously shutting off. That sealed the deal for me. My daughter is getting my old 1 mp camera (have to get back from my parents) and if she does well with that, she'll get an upgraded model in a few years. Maybe Mommy will get an upgraded model and she'll get my current camera!

Sooooo disappointed!
