That's because you have your personal options set to subscribe to every thread you post to, and then send you an email each time someone else posts to that thread.
On top of that, AOL is your email provider. They've got lots of problems with their spam filter settings, and they were blocking all emails from the DISboards for a while. Last week, they corrected this so you started to receive the emails you were actually supposed to get from here.
If you want to change your settings so you don't get notification emails, head to the Tech Support forum and check the Frequently Asked Questions post for instructions on how to change that.
Ok...look. For like...3 nights now...it had not updated the posts on it's own...usually it tells me what was the last post, who posted, etc. Puts em in order, right? Right. Then tonight the server was "busy" (a normal response) so I just go back and go to post again, and all of a sudden it said the forty second rule...try again 40 seconds later...no my reply is a duplicate!!! I'm getting really annoyed and to the point of not wanting to go on here until something is fixed!!! 
I know..the server says it's "always busy" and to try again later.. and the stupid 40 second rule...grr!
