Really freaked out about Fastpass planning

I think the problem is that on this board everyone works themselves into a frenzy to have the "perfect" trip plan with all the best ADRs and FPs. 6 months is a long time before a trip and I think people probably just feel the need to overplan everything and create the expectation that everybody needs to even if it's not particularly important.

My point is, don't let yourself be caught up in the frenzy. We're so more relaxed about it and it means no pre trip frustration.

We are going to have a full day at Animal Kingdom on Tuesday of our trip. And then we are going to eat Beaches and Cream around 3pm on Friday and then head back to Animal Kingdom. Even if we don't get any of the Pandora stuff in on Tuesday, I will at least do the standby line for it on Friday. I really just wanted to see the place at night mostly, but being able to get the rides in as well would be good too.

Since your morning at AK is close to the beginning of your trip, I would not expect to get fastpasses for FoP. Most people have not seen any availability until day 5 or so of their trip. If that's day 1 or 2 for you, there probably won't be any available. My recommendation if you really want to do it would be to go at rope drop. In order to do that you will have to move your breakfast reservation later.

Not sure what your plans are for that Friday morning, but if you don't need FPs for another park that would probably be the most "sure" bet that you will get FoP. So you could just book your 3 fastpasses for that day in the late afternoon at AK.

I don't understand the notion that you have better luck towards the end of your trip scoring fast passes for Pandora....wouldn't everyone be catching on to that and then just trying to grab fast passes at the end of the week from the start?

We don't have any plans for Friday until noon. Changed our reservations for Beaches n Cream on Friday to 12pm.....I figured on the day my window opens 60 days out, I will look for fastpass for Pandora on Friday afternoon/night. My wife is just worried with us being there most of the day on Tuesday, and then again for the afternoon/evening on Friday that our son will get bored. He's not that much into zoos anymore since he goes to them all the time, so the actual animals at AK don't really do anything for him. Personally I would rather skip the character breakfast and get to Pandora at rope drop on Tuesday, but my wife is adamant that we should do one noting that it was one of the highlights of his trip last time getting to meet Mickey.

Here is our itinerary as of now:

Saturday (arrival day): Check in to POR, take the boat to Disney Springs, eat dinner at Splitsville

Sunday: Magic Kingdom: Eat dinner at Tutto Italia at Epcot

Monday: Magic Kingdom: Eat dinner at Boma

Tuesday: Animal Kingdom: Eat dinner at Yak n Yeti

Wednsday: get up later so we can transition into a night time park experience. Knock out Hollywood studios starting around 10-11am. Come back to hotel, eat dinner. Go back to Magic Kingdom to see it at night and do extra magic hours.

Thursday: Epcot: Dinner reservations at Le Cellier

Friday: eat lunch at Beaches n Cream at 12pm. Then head to Animal Kingdom for rest of the afternoon/night. Eat quick service food at AK.

Saturday: Half day at MK, then eat lunch at Trex, then head home.

The issue isn’t the other people who log on that morning with the same 60 day window. It’s that people who arrive earlier than you have already booked FPs for their entire trip by the time your window opens.

It’s really 60 days + the length of your trip. So it’s highly likely your first several days could be already completely booked by people who were checking in the week/days before you.

I see now that AK morning is the fourth day of your trip. (For some reason I thought it was your first or second day) It’s possible you may find something for Pandora.

I think most have posted that they had luck getting FoP fast passes on day 5 or 6, so you may luck out and get one for day 4.

Your other AK day is your day 7 and you’re going in the afternoon, so that should not be a problem. (The morning FPs go quicker.)

I agree 100% with @Sparkly.

Save the stress and anxiety for Real Life!

I always find the parts of our trips that make us smile or laugh the most have nothing to do with the attractions, it’s usually those spontaneous moments with the people you’re with. And yes, you can still be spontaneous at WDW. It’s the only way we vacation.
Have a great trip! pixiedust:

I had preplanned this is MK day, that is Epcot day. When it was time for FP, I checked the two AK days and there were no FP. I freaked. My DD got online and found lots of FOP on other days, she just moved a few days around and found everything we wanted.
