Real Refillable Mug question

(no, not 'can I use it forever at all the resorts' :teeth: )

I'll be staying at All Star Music. When I buy my refillable mug, and fill it with coffee, what do they have for milk? Do they have powdered stuff, real milk in cartons, non-dairy creamer? Describe to me the coffee station, please.

The answer will pretty much determine whether I buy a mug or not . . .

Thanks,

KC :sunny:

Milk is dispensed from a big (10 gal?) container of milk, suspected in a device that allow you to dispense it from a spigot.

I think that they also have the little single liquid creamer packets, plain and flavors. I don't remember a milk dispenser.

Hmmm... my memory must be going....

I couldn't find milk at POR... (Even though I was told before we left they have it, by someone at disney). Milk was for sale, though, in the little cartons.

They did have "real" creamer" (the little cups, refridgerated, in both plain and like 6 other flavors), as well as non-dairy powdered stuff.

Gosh now this is ringing a bell. I remember they did away with those big dispensers when they started having trouble with folks filling refillable mugs from it. Sorry for my earlier confusion. :)

ALL STAR food courts now have a special "dispenser machine" that is marked "creamer for coffee" (or some such thing).

Don't know exactly WHAT it dispenses, but I thought it was fine in my coffee.

If you're particular...
I also saw folks request (and GET) from a CM, real milk (don't know if it was skim, 2%, or whole) poured by the CM from a half-gallon carton into the person's coffee. The carton was brought out from inside the service room that all the major "fixin's" and soda pop dispensers surround.

Thanks so much! I can't drink non-dairy creamer, it just weirds me out, and the powdered stuff is worse. But I do love my coffee with milk (and tea, too!)

So, refillable mug, here I come!

Hmmmm...I didn't see it. Maybe I didn't notice.
I saw creamer in dispensers and little "cups" of half and half.

I just remember seeing the little cartons of creamer or half and half. I don't recall any dispensers around.

All Stars definately has creamer in a dispenser, right next to the coffee machines. However, quite often they are empty so you have to try a couple of machines til you find one with any in (i think there are 4 machines, 3 on the island and 1 up at the back near the tv).

Creamer in a dispenser at All Stars.

I bought a carton of milk at the general store, and kept it in the fridge at POR. Used it for my coffee, and when the kids got hot chocolate in their refillable mug, I would put some milk in there. Makes it taste sooo much better.

When you guys say 'creamer', do you mean liquid non-dairy creamer? That stuff is nasty - I use real milk in my coffee. So just to check, they DO have real milk, if you ask for it? (and those 'real' half and halfs are just as bad, IMHO)

Thanks,

KC :sunny:

You can also buy real milk in little cartons in the grab-n-go section of the food court, where they have pre-made sandwiches, salads, juice in cartons, etc. :sunny:

You can get real milk if you ask for it. We did the same as Robo. Asked for it and they brought some out from the service room and poured it into our tea.

Thanks for the info. I of course know that I could buy a carton of milk and put it in my coffee, but I really hate paying twice for a cup o'joe, ya know?

Pickey and cheap! Boy, how do you get anyone to go on vacation with you. I bet you've never spent more than $600 on lunch, and asked for more brioch with your cavier. :rotfl:

I don't agree about the "cheap" bit -- I think it's reasonable to expect to not have to pay extra for lightening coffee.

"Picky" -- well -- I suppose that would qualify. I'm very picky with regard to lightening my coffee, though my preference is actually the trans-fat-laden powdered non-dairy creamer stuff. I prefer it to everything other than heavy cream. I recognize that the choices for lightening a cup of coffee will be limited to what the shop has available, so I know not to expect more than that. This is the case even at a dedicated coffee shop; I just make do with whatever is part of what they offer.
