~ Real Housewives Of NewYorkCity ~

I miss the days of Simon in a thong, can't believe I admited to that. I think a couple of seasons ago when it turned into a giant QVC/HSN moment, it lost some of it's appeal. Although I still watch especially when I am on my treadmill makes it go faster.

That got REALLY bad. Everyone had a product to sell. I rolled my eyes so much that season, I was afraid they'd get stuck that way.

And yes, I shamefully admit I miss Simon in a thong, too. Ahhh, the simple days of off-season St Barts. :rotfl:

... I also think she purposely wore her hair like that :eek:to Ramona's dinner just so everybody would know that she just came from a "photo shoot" ... and the really sad part is, I actually think that she thought she looked absolutely stunning :scared1: ...

:)

Yep, I'm sure that's exactly why she kept her hair like that! That is probably something I would try. If someone were crazy enough to hire me as a model, I would try to figure out how I could make sure people knew without seeming to brag. So yeah, showing up with funny hair "straight from a shoot" might work. But at the last minute, I'd realize how silly I looked and would shove my hair back in a ponytail.

I think Alex is acting like she is for a couple of reasons. I think she is trying to assert herself and have a backbone. She used try to please everyone, especially those whose social circle she was dying to join. Now she seems to think she is an equal to them, so she is speaking up.

I actually think she is right about some of it. But there is such a thing as waiting for the proper time and place. And just because you are right doesn't mean you need to keep bringing it up, and pushing and pushing.

THe other reason I think she has gotten so argumentative is to stay on the show. Wasn't there a rumor that Alex was not going to be asked back this season? Getting into a dramatic argument with every cast member at every event (beginning last season) helps insure her participation with the show.

As for Alex's hair, has anyone here ever tried to comb/brush out a tease that's been shellacked in placed? I can see that she couldn't have done much of anything with her hair short of washing a couple of times and restyling. If she really had to go straight from one place to the other (which I believe), there's not much she could do. As it is, she did try to tame it somewhat. I find her so much less pretentious than the rest of them.

As for Ramona, she's done a lot with her 2 yr degree. Sonja ONLY married money. She's done nothing else as far as I can tell, except socialize.

Ramona and Mario and Simon and Alex have real partnerships in their marriages. You cannot say that about any of the others. Those 4 built what they have together. Sonja, Jill, and LuAnn married money (and were 2nd wives at least). Kelly had a career, and does still model some but she's such a nutcase.

You know what? You have to be right. She is in the center of a lot of drama this season. I wouldn't be surprised if she set the whole modeling thing up herself. I mean, really. In all of NYC, SHE gets picked to model something? Maybe it's like a modern day version of Glamour Shots. OMG, that would be hilarious. Coming straight from her shoot at "Glamour Shots" :happytv:

Regarding the hair...I still would put it in a scrunchie if that's all I could do. (I know, no New Yorker would wear a scrunchie:rotfl:) I actually think all the wives are pretentious, but at least Alex owns it. She as much as admitted they are social climbers. They wanted the social status and will figure out a way to be included. That's better than Luanne and her self-professed "class". It seems to me that declaring that you have "class" and implying that others don't is an indication that you, yourself, are not "classy".

As far as the careers/marriages, ITA with you! Ramona can be kind of loony, and she talks without thinking:mic:, but I admire her belief in women being able to support themselves.

She is a real model and is signed and represented by a well know legitimate modeling agency in NYC. Keep in mind most "fashion models" are not conventionally beautiful generally in "real life" they are quirky, awkward or different looking.

I was reading the blogs on bravotv.com and in LuAnns she says that as for Alex's modeling she "shouldn't quit her day job" which I think is pretty harsh considering Alex and Simon are working to support their family and she is living off a divorce settlement from a Count!

I agree with everything you've said. Am I the only one who liked her hair?

I agree. I think Alex did a great job. I was really surprised at how "high fashion" she looked.

I was watching the Oprah show today. Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts were her guests today. And guess who was sitting in the front row? Jill Zarin! She wasn't a guest or anything, just an audience member. I couldn't tell who she was sitting with. I'm hoping it was Kelly.

Love the housewives. Sonja is probably my favorite, although the way she treated Simon at the Equality March was out of line.

This is weird, but I miss Bethenny on RH but I dont like watching her show. Hmmmm

I feel the same way. All Bethenny, all the time is too much Bethenny for me. I enjoyed her show at first but now she's annoying me.

:rotfl2:

Hold out for the compilation CD of all the Housewives includin' Simon, of course. ;)

Oh my gosh, it won't be long and they will be able to do a CD. What will I do with my copy of "Money Can't Buy You Talent"?? I guess I could frame it, dahling.

Pretty crappy of Sonya to make fun of Ramona over the 2 year degree, I sense mean girl jealousy over Ramona gettin' the award.

Omg I cringe every time I see that bouncy picture in your posts, I have an incredible fear of mice, so I can't read your posts:scared1:, I have to scan past it, I don't suppose you'll take it down for me?:worship: I don't want to skip what you're saying.

I love how Luann said "I have to be in the City to work on my music." Uhhhh ... seriously?

And does anyone think Sonja had riding skills to begin with!?

I love how Luann said "I have to be in the City to work on my music." Uhhhh ... seriously?

THis reminds me of the Friends flashback episode, where Ross is going to spend the summer "working on my music". Of course that was written to get a laugh...

For all you Simon fans...he will be performing on WWHL on Thursday!! It comes on right after RHoNY! Can't wait.:lmao:

Rewatching the last episode.....
Luanne corrects Ramona's pronunciation of the Italian place where her wine is made. OK.... Then Luanne says "Venice", like an American. I have family who lived in Italy and they call it "Venizia". Now I am not one to correct other people's pronunciation, especially Italian, but if Luanne is going to open that door by correcting Ramona, I just can't help it.
