My grandmother passed away this week - I've saved some of the flowers from the service & would like to somehow use them on a page in my scrapbook that I'm making of her life - I'm enjoying the flowers in water right now, but before they look too awful I'd like to do something to preserve them. Can they be laminated? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

TIA!
Brenda

I saved some roses from my mother's funeral and just let them dry on their own. You'll know the blooms are dry enough when you touch them and all the petals fall off.

Put a few of the petals into one of those plastic memorabilia holders they sell at most craft stores (3L brand makes them and they are archival quality) and you can adhere right to the page you're working on.

I recently looked up how to dry rose petals in the microwave and it worked! You can only do it with individual petals and the color changed a little. They turned out beautifully though - much prettier than just drying them. Trying doing a google search as there are different ways to do it. I just put around 5 or 6 petals face down (to keep them open) on a plate and microwaved 2 minutes on 50% power. It did take a little experimenting to get it right.

I'm sorry for your loss.

I am so sorry for your loss.
I have pressed flowers before and then used them. I have a press but if you don't have one...you can use plain paper and put them between some heavy books. Leave them for a few weeks. Then let them air dry. I would use some of those pockets they sell for saving momentos

I know you want to preserve the flowers but how about taking a pic of the flowers so you can remember what they did look like when they were nice....I saved roses from when my Dad passed away and just let them air dry...

Take care

Lisa
