I received so many different directions to Fantasia Mini Golf (all from Disney employees, all wrong).
Here is the best way to go (if your not driving).
Fantasia Mini Golf is directly in between the Dolphin and Swan Hotels. (and across the street)
so either:
1-Take a bus from your resort to MGM and get the boat there to the Swan/Dolphin, when you get off the boat, walk directly between the two hotels to the street, the golf course is right across the street. or:
2 - Take a bus from your resort to Downtown Disney, Market Place stop, and from there take a bus to the Swan/Dolphin. Get off at either hotel and walk straight through the hotel to the back (outside) you will then be in the middle of the two hotels, walk straight up the middle to the street and cross over.
P.S. I drug my DH there under protest, cause Disney advertising makes it sound like the greatest mini golf ever. IT WASN"T. Just average.

I was planning on heading to that one or Winter Wonderland (is that it) and am surprised to see that it wasn't that good. Could you tell me why?

Hi there! Lots of people could benefit from this post if it were posted on the Theme Park Attractions and Strategies board, so I am transferring it over there. Please look for further replies there. Thanks so much! :D

WinterWonderland Golf is next to Blizzard Beach.
Fantasia was just an average course, very easy to play. No special tricks or good holes. Our neighborhood courses at home are better. And little to no shade if your going in the summer. I haven't been to WinterWonderland so I don't know what it's like. Also Fantasia costs $10.00 a person unless you have a discount card. We got 50% off with our AP's. I wouldn't go back.

Anyone know how the winter/summerland is? My DH and I love mini golf, and I was dissapointed to hear that Fantasia wasn't that great.......

Fantasia Gardens had a very whimsical theme. DS Vincent and I enjoyed it in the blazing sun. We discovered you will need several bottles of water to keep you hydrated if you play this course in the middle of the day.

All the best,
Victoria Darling

I'm going to move this over to our transportation board for you. They will give you some excellent and advice about this topic.

We make a round of Mini-golf a part of every vacation! That being said, here are my recommendations. . .

Fantasia Gardens - a must if you are fans of Fantasia, but, not much of a course. There is little challenge as some of the holes are based on luck and darn near impossible to use skill shots when you're heading up a rediculously steep ramp! It is a beautiful course tho. . .

Fantasia Fairways - THE challenge course! This is more for the serious golfer/putter. There is no theming to the holes per se. It is set up much like a regular golf course and can take a while to complete! You may encounter some serious players there, one group behind us was even raking the sand traps every time! Seemed pointless as you can't hit out of them anyway!

Winter Summerland - Our favorite! Challenging enough to actually have a healthy competition and the theming is wonderful! Lots of great sight gags and is easy enough for the kids. Try both courses, they are pretty equal in my book, but each has it's own theme and unique charm (in other words, I can't pick a favorite since I love 'em both!)

One request tho. Please follow the 6 stroke maximum rule! It always amazes me how some groups can monopolize a course! If you have small children who want to play and have difficulty finishing in 6 strokes, explain to them beforehand that after 6 trys, you actually get to pick up the ball and drop it in the hole! Usually, that little trick works!

Have Fun!

I really appreciated your comments, ParkFreak! It made it easier to decide where we want to go . . . and we do want to go to at least one course.

Is it hard to get to Winter Summerland, though? Seems like I was on a bus that made a pick-up at Blizzard Beach in December and I don't recall seeing the entrance to Winter Summerland. Is it quite a hike or did I just not see it?

I think we would prefer that course if we can get there.

Thanks!

I don't think the bus makes a stop at the golf course, but I wouldn't know as we always drive.

Anyone else know?

I don't think it's too much of a hike from the BB stop tho.

Winter/summerland is located next to blizzard beach
so it is themed similarly and busses go directly there.
With Fantasia you will have to do some walking if you
go by bus. We went to Fantasia at night and had
great views of fireworks from both Epcot and fromMGM's
Fantasmic! (You are right in the middle of both!)

Don't go for the miniature golf, though. Try to play the
chip'n'putt course (to your left when you enter). It
is much more challenging and is LESS CROWDED!!
