So there's me and oh my son 14 daughter 6 plus a new baby who will if arrives on time will be 1 whilst we there.
def want the dining plan not qs so do we upgrade at POL or go OKW currently cheaper by £300 to stay OKW is this a no brainier ???????????
Booking after work so all advise welcome xxxxx

I was just wondering this as pricing up for 2015.

I think I'd pick SSR for the location (walk to DTD) but actually the resort that appeals most to me is POFQ. I just don't know whether it's silly to pay more for a Mod over a Deluxe?

Depends on how much resort matters to you and how much the savings matter. Personally I don't like OKW and for £300 would pay to stay somewhere I prefer. For me OKW/SSR are actually slightly more expensive even though we have to pay to upgrade to DDP at CSR, but even if it resulting in a savings I'd still be hesitant about staying there because I just don't like OKW. However my opinion is only based on having visited OKW. I've never stayed there. I disliked the layout and feel of the resort. It just wasn't for me, but plenty of other posters have stayed there and love it (like all the resorts I suppose!).

I see lots of us are pricing up for next year :goodvibes Exciting! No wonder some of the websites have been struggling for me when running dummy bookings this morning :teeth:

Personally I would suggest SSR or OKW you have a Kitchenette so with a little one you will easily be able to sterilize and make bottles (if you are feeding by bottle) Nice to have a fridge, toaster, microwave and coffee maker as well.

I can't comment on OKW because I've never stayed there. I have visited the resort though and it seemed nice enough. My advice would be to look at SSR. We have stayed there twice and will stay there again in Oct and again next year if we go. If you like OTT Disney then it's not the place for you, but they offer the 35% off and you get the full dining plan at no cost. Personally, we LOVE SSR it's quiet, well equiped (food court isn't as stellar as some other resorts but it's perfectly adequate). The DVC resorts are more "homely" and more serene. I have stayed at CBR and POR, I haven't stayed at PORQ but our family did when we were at POR. YOu should definitely give seriously consider OKW/SSR.

I haven't stayed at OKW, but my feeling on visiting was as you say. I didn't care for the feel of the place, but it's a great deal. Consider SSR if you don't like OKW because it also has the additional benefit of the walkway to DTD. DVC resorts are different but what you get for your money is fantastic.

Completely agree! You have facilities and benefits at the DVC resorts that make it worth the upgrade from a Moderate, especially if you're going to upgrade your DP anyway.

One thing to remember about OKW if travelling with little ones is that there are very few buildings with lifts. So could be difficult if its a peak time and you end up in a building without one.

IMO I prefer SSR, its lovely and quiet and the new paddock pool area is great for kids.

I totally agree that SSR is much better. That Paddock pool is AMAZING!
