Hi all!

Just came home last week from our vacation and from our Western cruise last April 24- May 1. So, for all of you who have questions, I am ready to help

We really enjoyed our cruise (our first) everything was PERFECT!

I hope all of you who booked with DCL will have a GREAT time as we did.

We will leaving on the 5/22 Western Caribbean cruise and need your help. What suggestions do you have based on personal experience and what you might have heard during your trip regarding excursions on Grand Cayman, Cozumel and Key West. We are leaning towards the public beach on Grand Cayman, Paradise Beach on Cozumel and a walk around Key West. Lastly, if it isn't too much to ask, what movies were playing onboard at the Buena Vista Theatre or in the staterooms. Thanks for any information you can share that might make our trip even better.

There's a little bit of a debate going on, on another thread. Are shorts allowed in the dining rooms on Mexicali night? What did the Navigator say the suggested attire was for that night?

Dinner (Suggested dress: Tropical, Casual - No shorts or jeans please)

BUT I saw lots of people with shorts and tropical shirts, mostly men and children.

Hi! Sorry for the late reply. Our internet server provider bugged down yesterday.

Anyways, on Mexicali night saw plenty of people in shorts. We dined in PALO that night in our formal Tropical wear but after dinner when we went to the atrium and deck party plenty were wearing shorts and tropical shirts.

DVCFEB97, I love key west..we tooked our DD who's 5 to the Key West Aquarium and she enjoyed the tour, after that, we took her back to the ship since she wanted to join the club then to walk around Afterwards, my DH and I just walked around, tried the conch fritters and the key lime pie and shopped in Duval Street. We wanted to go to the Butterfly Conservatory but after walking halfway decided that the walk was far too long for us Plenty of people did the tram tour also. In Grand Cayman, we did the stingray encounter with Capt Marvin's and my DD really enjoyed that. After the stringrays, we walked around and browse thru the shops then decided to head over the ship and enjoy the pool. Didn't go to any beaches though, we decided to wait for Castaway Cay. I didn't really like Cozumel as compared to Key West or Grand Cayman..we did the Dolphin Encounter in Chaankanaab Park and my DD REALLY enjoyed that, but the waiting part was far longer then the actual encounter

Movies in Buena Vista (as I remember) is Alamo, Confessions of a teenage drama queen, home on the range...will see if I remember more and post it again later

In stateroom, movies were Cat in the Hat, School of Rock, Freaky Friday..will dig up the copy of stateroom movies which I took as souvenir and post again later.

You need list of Disney's Animated Movies showing in the Stateroom TV?

Welcome back!!!
Do you remember what the menu was for either tuesday or friday's dinner. one was probably small world and the other was best of chef. I really need to know which one was on which night. when we cruised last year small world was on friday but some recent navigators seem to indicate that the days were switched. Help--I am trying to decide which night for palos.

Also--what time did you get to the pier? did you have any trouble getting your ressies?

Finally --what time was your sc tour with captain marvin? I am trying to decide what time to sign up for and am worried about the tendering tickets>

Hi cdgmom!
Tuesday was "Around the World" menu and Friday was "Best of" menu.
We got to the pier at around 10:30am. We had pier pick-up, so, we spend around 15 mins filling out forms etc. but check-in was quicker for us bec we are in a shorter line (non-US resident line). Lines at other check-in counters were quiet long already at this time. We had NO problem with ressies, one of the first ones in line for PALO reservations.
For the stingrays, we did the 8:30am. No problem with tendering whatsoever, we were at Capt Marvin's at 8:05am.

Did you do any special shopping? Get any great deals?
Attend any shopping seminars? Any reccommendations or warnings?
I am especially interested in Key West and Cozumel shopping. I am thinking of picking myself up a nice Tanzanite ring!
