We are all booked for our first visit to SS. We just purchased and are going for a 3 night trip end of Feb. We should arrive around noon on Fri, I think we'll spend the day exploring the resort and relaxing. We have a dinner reservation for 6pm at the Raglan Rd in DDT, we originally had it for the turf club but some of the reviews were'nt that great.
Saturday we will go to MK and spend the day and evening there, we have reservations for dinner at Cinderellas Royal Table. We did the DDP we just thought it would be easier to already know where and when we are eating then trying to decide while we are there, We figure our little one will ride the carousel at least 20 times,me 20 times on SM.
Sunday is up in the air maybe MK again or AK, or possibly SeaWorld which I haven't visited in 10 years, our flight isn't til 5:30pm on Monday so we have most of the day on monday as well. It should be a nice little getaway. We are holding off on the AP because we aren't sure if we'll be back this year, we're hoping for the week of Halloween if we do visit again this year. We also are booked on the Freedom of the Seas for April school vacation this year which we've totally lost sight of since we've become DVC members .Any other suggestions for things to do while we are there on a short trip.

How exciting, your first trip to SSR! Have a wonderful time and be sure to check out the new Grandstand buildings/pool while you're "exploring" and fill us in when you return! Maybe some pictures?

Enjoy!

First trip! Fabulous! We really enjoy SSR, and there is a nice little playground by the pool up in the Paddocks (maybe elsewhere, too?) that my guys enjoyed even at 8 and 9 :) Take some time to enjoy the resort as well as the parks / Downtown Disney.

Animal Kingdom is certainly something to consider. It is easily a 1/2 day or 3/4 day park (if you skip the tacky Dinosaur area). There is a great Lion King show plus the safari and EE. We generally spend our "short" day there (whether because of travel or dinner plans). DD 6 considers it her favorite park (she is animal crazy). Have a great trip.:)

I agree that AK is a good idea--although I disagree with the masses about it only needing a partial day. It's a great park with lots of offerings that don't get noted as attractions on the map. Try just stopping and chatting with an animal handler--there's lots to learn.

I also disagree about Dinoland--I think it's great! DINOSAUR is one of my favourite rides, it's well done and manages to scare me even though I am expecting it. Plus it does all of this without subjecting me to centrifigal forces. The boneyard is great! Primeval whirl seems to get great smiles out of kids who've talked their parents into it and the games are fun--the cheeziness just seems to add to the fun.

I suppose it's a good thing that we have different preferences though since it spreads out the crowds.

Hope you have a great vacation.
