A while back I posted that I had started a bit of running, and was getting pretty severe shin splint pain. Well, happy to say, that is gone, and I've been happily running--with a different pair of shoes, and gradually increasing the intensity.

My long run is now up to 7.0 miles, and my pace has been slowly getting just a bit faster.

But, most of all, tomorrow morning, 10AM, I'm running my first 5K race! Not sure whether I'm more excited, or nervous! Based on some recent runs, I sort of have a goal in mind of 35:00, which I think I can do with a hard effort.

We'll see what happens!

Good luck on your first race! Make sure you update all of us when you are finished! You are going to do awesome! :yay:

Good luck! Can't wait to read your race report!

Good Luck-remember nerves and adrenaline is all part of it.They get you to the starting line together then the adrenaline will just take over.

Let us know your results-weather could not have been nicer.

Best of luck on your first race.:cheer2:

Way to go! Let us know how it went! I am sure you will do better than you think!

Thank you all for the kind support! In fact, I did do a little better than expected. Apparently, race day gives a nice boost to performance I guess:

28:59!!!!!

Woohoo!!!

Congratulations and great time for a first 5K. You beat my first try by 2 minutes. Be careful though, it gets addicting.
