reading reviews of Le Cellier and wondering about the bread?

Okay I know this seems like a really silly question, but.....I'm a very nosy person and must have answers to life's little mysteries :rotfl:

I've seen several pictures of these wire baskets with what looks like 3 or 4 huge sticks of bread in them. What goes on with this? Do you cut it at your table? Is it decoration only? It just looks like ALOT of bread! The first time I saw it I thought maybe it was just an enlarged picture, but I've seen it a few times since. Is this the famous pretzel bread people talk about?

Le Cellier diners please fill me in!

Yes that is the pretzel bread! It will include other kinds of bread too unless you specifically request just the pretzel (which is what we do). It's very fresh, hot, and delicious. This, combined with the mushroom filet mignon entree, is one of my favorite meals in disney.

There are 3 kinds of breadsticks: pretzel, multigrain and sourdough (someone will correct me if I screwed up the names, LOL!). They really aren't that big. In fact, we've always requested more of our favorites. We usually just tear them in half or give the server the heads up that we want more of a specific kind. The famous pretzel bread IS in that basket.

we love the bread there and then dip it in the cheddar cheese soup at the end.......delicious.....they represent three different areas in Canada......now for the life of me cant remember what...
googled it and found these answers...
slightly tart Sourdough to celebrate Canada's miners who made the sour bread while searching for gold in the Yukon; Multigrain, to represent the wheat production of Canada; and the ever-popular soft, doughy Pretzel Bread, in honor of Oktoberfest and Canada's German settlers....compliments of a review Mouse ears.

Yes, the pretzel bread is very good!

DH and I dined at Le Cellier for the first time in Feb and we both thought the pretzel bread did live up to all the hype!

The bread is great. It's not all that big though. We break off pieces and share at our table. We always ask for more.

Yummy sounds delicious. I can't wait to dip it in the soup.

Thanks for clearing that up for me, the pictures just make it look like each stick is about 2 or 3 ft long! I was trying to figure out how you cut this at the table LOL, but tearing makes sense too!

Your last post was what I was going to say.

The pretzel bread dipped in the Chedder Soup is sooooooooooo good:thumbsup2

We had our 11th Anniversary dinner at Le Cellier in September and will be going back in August during a family trip celebrating my DS's 5th BD. I'd probably had tried for ressies in May too, but it's going to be just me and my DS4 so we're doing things like Sci-Fi, WCC, Fantasmic! Dinner at MM, Crystal Palace dinner and 1900PF dinner.

I also agree with the PP that the Filet is my all time favorite meal at Disney (but I get them to substitute the cream cheese mashed potatoes for the mushroom risotto - which I don't care for but that's just me).

Enjoy.

Bread in the soup!!!!! Oh, that sounds so good. I have a lunch reservation there for Memorial Day weekend. Now I'm so hungry for it!
