I've read 2 articles stating MagicBands not available to order on MDE app/website for travellers visiting WDW resort who are outside USA and Canada due to shipment and different taxes does this also include for collection at Disney Resort or is it just for home delivery?

It probably only applies to international shipping.

I’d be willing to bet that the real reason is because too many people complain about unpredictable international shipping time, as well as customs holdups, payment of duties/VAT, etc. If that is indeed the case, then shipping to the resort to pick up on arrival, would avoid all of those things. Sales tax would likely be figured based on the resort address.

Maybe someone else will have an email or phone number to reach someone in customer service so you can get a definite answer.

I am seeing posts in my Canadian groups that it’s a problem for Canada as well. Anything international is a no go. No shipping to resort offered. Being told to buy MagicBands after arrival.

Haven’t tried it myself.

I’ve “heard” the same. Can’t have them delivered to the resort FD as an option. I think they should get a voucher for $10 off MB’s if they have to purchase them at Disney, it could even be limited to a certain selection.

Are those legit sources? Sometimes one blogger posts something that is wrong, and then other bloggers repeat the information without checking it.

My Disney Experience says this (as of 10/25/2023):
MagicBand orders are only shipped to US addresses. Currently, the purchasing experience is only available in English, and band customization is only available in English.

I know MagicBands are available at Disney resorts and some are have shops that just sell MagicBands.
You could get them on Amazon UK, US or Canada website but before purchasing make sure will it be compatible and will it work
There are some magicbands on shopdisney website but make sure it's the official Shopdisney website as there are some fake shopdisney or Disney store websites that sells the item with big discount prices and the item doesn't arrive so make sure if you use shopdisney website to purchase magicband it's the official Shopdisney website.
Additionally you can always collect a card at the front desk just tell them your full name and have photo ID ready with payment how you made the booking if you booked online on Disney World website such as card you used, paypal receipt or Disney gift card I always pick up a card when I'm staying at Disney Resort or visiting the parks as it's a souvenir to take home.

I couldn't find an article on wdwinfo, The DIS or Disney parks blog but I found those articles on 2 media companies they are Kenny the pirate and WDW New today.

It is legit, there are some posts about it on another thread. A person in Canada posted they couldn't get the option in MDE to purchase the MB's. They were told it was because they resided outside the US and they were no longer available to guests who are not living in US for pre-order. This is for pre-order on MDE, not ShopDisney or a third party site.

it's not a rumour, it's truth. Canadian here and while we've never been able to have magic bands delivered to us we were able to order them and pick them up when we checked in. For about 2 weeks earlier this month we couldn't even see the bands we currently have on our account, the page was blank. Now we have that ability back but can no longer order new ones - that means we can't get the pre-arrival discount.
this is the message I get for upcoming trip, BTW calling that number does nothing, they can't help

Yes this is bad I was just about to buy some when I realised that they are not available from the Disney UK shop, did anyone manage to get around this issue?

the only way around this is to order one online from the disney store and have it delivered to the resort. Not ideal but it's the only way to potentially save any money on them if there happens to be a sale online, they are ridiculously expensive on site. We just bring old ones with us and never have any trouble.

I can confirm UK guests no longer have the option to pre-order MBs. For a while we could get round it using a VPN but now it doesn’t work as it recognises the UK address.
