Hmm, mine is not saying that.

Weird. My phone flashed a notice on top of the screen saying that I'd be joining a backup boarding group. And right now . . . it's not saying that anymore! How very weird and I'd be damned annoyed if I were there and not in NYC trying this out.

Anyone in the park notice delays? I tried to check the button right at 7, literally right as it turned, and the button showed promptly. On cell data, somewhat far from Disney (still in Florida).

We arrived at the park yesterday just after 9am and logged on with difficulty using wifi as soon as we were in the park. There were still boarding passes and we were assigned group 148. Had a great morning doing rides and shows then headed back to the villa for a rest about 1pm. Returned to the park about 5pm and got our Push notification that our group had been called at 5.04pm and we had until 7.04pm to board. Line moved steadily and we hit the pre show after 40 minutes. Loved it and are definitely up for doing it again before we return home.

We had done the same last week and got group 163 arriving at the same time. Ended up we couldn't ride as our call back window coincided with our ADR at Artist Point WL.

Did you click my status? There is a note at the top of the screen when clicking through that that says you aren’t in a boarding group.

I clicked both "join" and "my status" and received the same notice--a black-on-white overlay saying that I'd be joining a backup boarding group.

But now . . . now it's doing its regular thing and my only impediment is that, of course, I'm not there.

Since no one else has reported having had this happen, maybe it's just some weird thing that happened to me. But I didn't even open MDX until 7:05, so it's not like it somehow thought it was yesterday--and even if it did, it's not like backup BGs from yesterday would still be available.

So I have no idea how or why this happened, as right now I'd be able to join a BG--and there's no "you're joining a backup BG" notice on my Android phone.

15 minutes is better than 90 seconds, obviously, but I had hoped we were seeing a trend of the time stretching even further.

From my end, it is looking like back up BGs started around 7:15.

I also saw change to back up boarding groups at 7:15.

Group of 8, most signed in at the same time, one got a much earlier group than the others and went on their own. The others were distributed between 42-53. If you want to be in the same group, sign in once with everyone selected. They do not go by the order you tapped into the park.

Going Feb 4 and this morning I was teaching my daughter how to use the app (with my login since we share an account). She has an extra page where she has to click continue before selecting the people. She seems to have an updated app version too. I wonder why that is. Anyway at 7:14 we could get a regular group at 7:15 it was backup. Hoping they move park open dates in Feb but if not it’s gonna be really interesting to see how it goes.

That’s our HS day also. Hoping they move opening back also. I feel like with 9am opening that gives the ones that didn’t want to wake up for 7am opening time to get up and get in line.

They had issues 3X yesterday. But it was for 15/20 mins and back. I had BG10 which thru called around 715 but didn’t ride until 11 and they let me in. No issues. They are aware of issues on and off
