DH & I were in WDW last week and our DHS day was Tuesday, 2/9. Thankfully we were successful with getting a boarding group & riding ROTR. We are now 3 for 3 with getting ROTR BG's & I attribute it all to all the helpful information on the DIS. In Sept 2020 we were successful on both of our DHS days.
We were staying at the Swan and DH was on our balcony and I was in the hallway. DH used data and I used the Swan & Dolphin WiFi & I was the one who secured our #46 boarding group. We were called at 1:20PM.
My advice would be read, read, read (& learn) all you can about obtaining a boarding group. Practice. Get familiar with the screens and process. There is so much info on here and so many helpful folks with great information! Your party will be preselected so like others have said, just keep clicking join, join, join as soon as your clock turns to 7:00am/1pm.

I was playing from home today and for whatever reason after first join button push only I was selected with other 3 people in family 'not' selected. Is the 'make sure you are in the park prior to proceeding' mean I would've gotten a real BG? I think they were gone at 1 pm. today after 10-15 seconds. How many total groups are usually called for the 7 and 1 BG's?

I'm guessing now after doing more research that if playing from home perhaps you are 'deselected' by default and if I was actually in HS or at WDW with a park reservation that day for HS I think the members of my party would be 'selected' by default, true? Also, let's say for some reason I have a party of 4 and I do get a boarding group but it's just for me? Can I successfully add the other members of my party later?

Just did a practice run and have a concern. The person in my party I’ll be with was at the very bottom of my friends and family list which slowed me down tremendously. Should I assume they’ll be auto selected with me day of or just keep clicking and fix it later at the park? We got a boarding group successfully in December but it was panic mode so don’t recall methods lol

I have the same question however further research confirms that the party 'should' be autoselected and if not, I'd *assume* that other members could be added to your BG later if they have a valid ticket and park reservation?

I think joining right at 7 or 2 from the home screen is faster. You can position the join button on the home page to be in the same spot as the second join button and right at 7 or 2 start hitting join and keep touching that spot as fast as possible. This way right when the second page loads you'll hit join instead of waiting and then hitting join. I also think the second page loads faster when you do it this way. Look at my post above for a video where I test touching the join button once and touching it continuously as fast as possible. I've tried it multiple times and more often than not the second page loads instantly if you're touching the button as fast as you can.

How do you 'position' or 'reposition' the buttons on your phone/app? I have a Galaxy S8.

Got it, will do! For newbies or those returning after long board hiatus it's a bit overwhelming to know where to start in a 900 page thread!

Yep, just read page 1, first post, was helpful thanks! Only main question left is "how do I 'move' the join button' that was noted in the screenshots in page 865?

If you're not at Disney right now I would recommend practice. Each phone and screen is different. You will find with practice exactly where you need to line up your phone. For me it's so that I can just see the red lights on the AT ATs on the MDE home screen but it may vary for others. Practicing is key for so many reasons.

This makes sense now, "lining up" essentially means finding the correct "scroll" with where the Join Now is positioned on your phone screen. Got it...

The second join button should be around the middle of the screen or slightly higher. On the AT AT page position join near the middle of the screen and touch it and hold your finger in that spot. The second join button will appear on the left side of the screen where you see the orange triangle. Use this to see if you should move the home page up or down.

I believe so, three button pushses...1) Join from AT AT screen, 2) Join from next screen and 3) Friends/Family party, whatever that button is called at bottom of screen on final screen

I've only tried from the main AT AT page. I've been successful about 98% of the time so just sticking with what works for me.

We were able to get into a backup boarding group when we tried at 1pm. We were group 147 and we made it on at 6pm.

I believe all the recent recommendations say not to do the refresh method - just hit join the millisecond time.gov changes to 07:00:00 and join and join. Worked for us two weeks ago without issue.
