Remember if you have somewhere to be you can find the nearest cm and ask for a recovery fp, that way you don't stand in line for who knows how long. You get a fp and then go back to ride when it reopens
We finally asked for one after waiting 40 mins since we hadn’t eaten a meal yet. CM took us around a corner and wanted it to be on the DL, which was interesting. Sounds like we only missed sitting in line for another 40 mins. Hope it gets back up today!

We finally got to ride!
Did you enjoy? That happened all 3 days on my January trip, and I must admit I was over it the third time after waiting 1 hour + each day and riding the last hour each day. Hoping for a morning group in October!

So truth be told yes and no! I think I was so frustrated/disappointed by the time and effort we put in that my feelings might have been a little tainted. I’m a FP+ girl through and through...so ANY wait for a ride is a pain in my opinion! We actually had a crazy experience all around and ending up riding 2x today 🤷🏼‍♀️

So During our evacuation they came around explaining that we would get a FP to come back later and were offering ponchos for anyone who needing them bc it was pouring. BUT as were were walking out of the line, it started working again so they hustled us back onto the ride. Like literally the party 3-4 groups in front of us didn’t ride as they were already out the door.II won’t give any spoilers but we missed the entire preshow. I had not seen any spoilers so DH and I were so confused! Anyway, we rode and got off and I went to a CM and explained what happened and asked if there was anyway we could go back and just watch the preshow to tie everything together. He said sure and sent us back through the FP line to experience the whole ride! So much better when you get the whole thing!

I was initially bummed we didn’t get a morning group as I know the ride is prone to breakdowns. But at the same time, lines got crazy QUICK today and I feel as though if we would have had an early BG we could have been behind all the other lines if that makes since. But it was a Saturday so that was to be expected, just worked out the best for us to gotoday as it’s a weekend trip. So it’s a tossup if trying to do the whole park as to which is better in my opinion. If everything is working as it should, we would have been on around noon and back at the resort if we wanted. We were boarding group 35. Best of luck on your trip!

Practicing at home - couldn't get it either time yesterday, and today at 2pm, I got the blue Join button, but then after the next screen (where you add people) it just went to the no boarding groups left screen. I'm supposed to get another blue button between those two, right?

Yay for yulilin3!!
Please don't wait for the "Join" button on the home page. You will have a faster experience by getting to the Virtual Queue page and watching you time to tick to exactly 10 AM or 2 PM.

Go to the Virtual Queue screen: From the home page hit the Blue Check Status > link. As soon as your smartphone changes to 10 AM or 2 PM and press the very large Join Virtual Queue button. Practice early and often

In line now, after 3 breakdowns today, (twice while in line). I know everyone said it’s worth it, but I have wasted so much time with this today. Still haven’t ridden RnRC or ToT. We had just walked over to Sunset Blvd with 45 min waits posted at each ride when the ride came back on and we were in the first groups called so scared to miss the 1hr window. Hustled back over and now been in line for almost an 1 hr with the new breakdowns. Our morning started at Pop where we were about 10 families back from the front of the Skyliner at 8:10. Only to be told at 8:40 the Skyliner wasn’t going to be available. We took off for the buses and were on the first bus, but sweaty, hot, and with HUNDREDS of mad, miserable people behind us. It was a terrible situation. Mixed with the lines for the MK bus, it was nuts!
So all in all, I’m ready to be blown away, but I’m also ready for it to get over with so we can get on with our day 😂 just DH and me this trip, I would have been stressing if our 3 kids were involved!
What was wrong with the skyliner?

That sounds disappointing and when I go. I want to do HS first and try for rotr to " get it out of the way"
I think I'm as prepared as I can be but so much is out of our control with transportation/ rotr and it's very regular breakdowns

I practiced today too at 2 and i think they didn't give out boarding groups at 2 because it was down. Either that or they were gone in 1 second

i has a presumedly successful practice at home at 2. The 10 am one was a fail for me as it took a very long time for my family to load for some reason.

I think both ways work the same tbh. Ive always used the join button on the front page and always have gotten a bg and usually a very low number

Thank you both so much! I will practice both ways and see what happens. We're of course going to be there on Labor Day, which will probably be the most crowded day since the parks reopened , but we'll do our best! It will not ruin our vacation if we don't get on, I'm just so excited to be going back!

yeah I was unsuccessful using the virtual queue but successful using the front page yesterday. There were other factors at play but I don’t think it really matters which way one goes at it. I just tap on join as soon as my phone says 10:00. That being said I have only been in the park once to do it in real life lol

I attributed this to having a bad signal the other day. Now I'm starting to formulate a conspiracy theory since I'm suddenly seeing multiple reports of slow loading on the same day I experienced it for the first time.

I've had slow loading ever since they changed it to pre-select your party. I think it's because it's actually "looking" for who is in the park instead of just popping up your entire friend list.

I agree 100% both methods work. The issue is that reaction time play a major between 2 different screens, With the Home screen most guests are watching for the button to be enabled and not watching the time on their smartphone. Just by having you finger(s) so close guests often nudge the screen up or down since it is a flow screen.

I have watched guests make 100s of misses with this method. But again practice, practice, practice and odds imporve to about 90% with a current smartphone, good Wi-Fi or good Cellular data connection.

The challenge with the home screen is that it is not at the top of the screen but requires guests to scroll down and if you bump the screen the page scrolls On the VQ page it is just a static "GIANT' button just hit the button at 10 AM or 2 PM.

The join button on the main page doesn't change to blue, i just hit it at 10

Ya, it's actually taken longer for me for the join button to appear int he VQ page, rather than clicking from the home page.
Again you don't wait for the button change. You just watch the time on your smartphone and hit the Giant button.

Give it a try today and let us know how it goes.

I know what you're saying. And i'm saying I have found the exact opposite to be true, at least for me
