I practiced this morning and experienced the same issue as others have reported where everyone on my friends and family list showed up except me. First time it happened to me. We may be going on a quick trip next week. The consensus is to proceed with the boarding group and try and get as CM to help add me in if this were to happen onsite, right?

That is my understanding of the current recommendation of the generous participants of this thread

yes, if possible be already in line for a GET CM, the line gets real long if lots of people are having issues.

BG 16 was called at 11:15. RotR's best post-covid day (94 BG's on 7/25) did not call 16 until 12:12. Are we headed for the record books? Do they finally have their act together? Or is something about to break down? Stay with us to find out.

My wife and youngest son are there now on an unplanned trip. From home, I got them into boarding group 41 (she was also on the app in the park). I just checked the status and their boarding changed and is now 30.

It ended up that a CM changed it so that friends could board together. Because I'm 466 miles away from HS, I'm out of the loop...

We got BG 9 today on WDW WiFi. My family was all trying, they were using data and I was on Disney’s WiFi with a really old phone and was able to snag the BG for our family. Like others said, they moved fast today! Called at 10:40 and made it through with no break downs! However, we were just evacuated from Smugglers run because of an emergency in the building....

BG 55 has been called at 3:20. This is a post-covid record! Previous best was 3:35 on 7/27. On 7/25 (highest post-covid BG day at 94), BG 55 was not called until 3:48.

Just got back from a full day at HS.

I have been practicing and practicing. I was shaking and about to loose my cereal at 9:50.. DD was trying on her phone and had not practiced AT ALL. She only half listened when I was giving her a tutorial yesterday. Did we get a BG? Wait for it. . .

DD got BG #2!!! Seriously. Once I pulled myself together, we started walking over to ride. As we were walking, we were called. For the first time EVER I did very little pre trip research on the new land and almost zero on the ride (with the exception of trying to get a boarding group). My head was spinning trying to find the entrance. We didn't have much of a wait. At one part, our group had to move to a new spot and I thought the ride was broken. But everything worked out in our new spot.

Our morning:
8:25 CR bus stop - I was taking no chances! A transportation team leader was
at the bus stop and told us it would be a 20 minute wait for a bus.
8:50 Bus arrived
9:05 Arrived at HS and got in line to wait for temp check/opening
9:15 Got temp check, went through security, and tapstile
9: 27 Restroom break and lined up for Slinky
9:45 Slinky started operating
9:47 Riding on Slinky!!
9:52 Found a bench to wait - longest 8 min. of my life

It could not have gone any smoother.

I'm sure they take into account the possibilities of ride breakdown when determining the number of boarding groups... So of course if everything goes well they'll close early. But if they have trouble they don't have as many upset guests as they would otherwise,

Right, it's tricky. It would be nice to have another optional queue open at 6pm or 7pm maybe, so more people can get to ride if possible.

I assume those backups were all groups that were shown being called, including final group 82? Unless they're letting in some people by some other means and not showing it, then they didn't give out enough backup groups yesterday - the ride sat empty for the last half hour of park operation, which would be a shame.
