Not sure I understand why people are saying less regular BGs were given out today? 61 regular BGs have been distributed for the past 6 days. The regular BG start and end number has varied a bit, but the number of regular BGs hasn’t.

Fewer backup BGs - they were gone in 10 mins which seems much faster than typical

Also, seems like starting at 13 so even if they gave out to 61 regular BGs that is fewer total regular BGs than recent days were they started much lower

Ok, but I’m not talking about Backup BGs - we have no way of knowing that total. How fast they go could be being controlled by Disney or it could just be a function of how many people are in the park - or some combo of both, or who knows what variables.

For regular BGs, there have been 61 every single day since Monday, when doing the First Backup Group # - First Regular Group # math.

Oh for sure - just people are feeling like 10 minutes for all BGs (regular and backup) to be gone feels really fast is all and thus speculating less total BGs given out today after recent issuea

But haven't they been starting with like BG 3 or 4? Today they start with 13 which means ~10 less regular BGs given out

Last regular BG # today is 73, so 73 - 13 = 60 (realized I was doing my math wrong above, needed to be using last regular BG # vs first backup group # so was 1 off)

Last regular BG # yesterday was 62, so 62 - 2 = 60

And that same math goes back to Monday.

Hi everyone! Reading all of this has been making me so nervous! My husband and son are so looking forward to getting on the rise.. Do you think BG will still be the only way to get on the ride by July?

No one really knows but if the ride continues being unreliable I don't see them switching to a new method. Definitely plan for BG and keep an eye on the thread

BG 19 was called about 850 ish and loading was immediate, no line. And Everything worked!

And actually now that I’m looking at the chart, the last few days are 1 off on the “Highest Regular BG” column as it is capturing the first Backup BG # vs the last Regular BG number. Should be:

Sunday 2/2 - 92
Monday 2/3 - 63 (regular BGs started at 3, so 61 total regular BGs)
Tuesday 2/4 - 62 (regular BGs started at 2, so 61 total regular BGs)
Wednesday 2/5 - 62 (regular BGs started at 2, so 61 total regular BGs)
Thursday 2/6 - 62 (regular BGs started at 2, so 61 total regular BGs)
Friday 2/7 - 62 (regular BGs started at 2, so 61 total regular BGs)
Saturday 2/8 - 73 (regular BGs started at 13, so 61 total regular BGs)

Also the total park hours should be 12, not 13, since Tuesday - not sure if that is impacting any of the other calcs.

Yeah, and I don't think it's helping that people on here are telling guests with backup groups to go talk to GET CMs, just making it worse and harder for people with main groups to get to ride. I'm not saying it's a bad idea, everyone wants to ride, but backup groups are what they are.

I disagree.

Tech failures on Disney’s end is not something someone did wrong and they are no less deserving of an attempt to ride than someone who just got luckier. And I highly doubt the small amount of people who actually do this are having a measurable impact on the number of BG given out or number of people riding.

What is making it hard for people is, drumroll please..... reliability. I’m team do what you can do to get your group on the ride (within reason and politely of course), no guilt. I don’t think the advice is any worse than sharing what to do to have the best chance at snagging a group in the first place.

Sort of seems that way with 6 days of consistent numbers, and to some extent helps explain the 30 / 40 / 60, etc second variations some have reported.

Of course all of this ‘assumes’ BG count numbers are static, otherwise it’s all a pile of meaningless data.

Group 46! Been stalking since 12/5. It all paid off. And I got to help 3 other families that would have struggled and may not have gotten one. Love spreading the pixie dust!

Way to go! Nice that someone here is trying to help others even if it costs them a higher BG. You are storing up treasures in heaven!

As somebody before corrected me I guess I’ll pay it forward: just an FYI that 2-62 actually is 61 BGs since you have to include both the lowest and highest BGs. The math is 62-2+1 - at least that’s how the formula were built into the chart before I pulled an Elsa and let it go.

(I had initially taken the same shortcut on the math but some hot shot showed up with his fancy math skills to correct me )

I stared at it for a minute and thought, I don’t think that’s wrong....but then just assumed I’d misread something. The park hours thing is definitely wrong, that’s my bad.
