There isn't any reason why you need to delete people or create a different account. Some people with a large number of friends and family in their MDE accounts have been doing that so that they can scroll faster through their list when selecting their boarding groups. But it only takes a couple seconds to scroll through a short list. :)
Agree! I was one of the ones that posted about making a difference, but I should have probably clarified this as a recommendation for long lists of family and friends. I had probably 10 people beyond my immediate family on my list (so around 15 total). DDs and I had no problem deselecting DS when the time came at 7 am. since he didn't come with us on this trip.

We rode yesterday, backup BG 99. As far as I can tell, I stayed away from spoilers, the ride was fully functional. I even got to ride twice since someone in our BG had a child swap.

Don't stress too much about it. I think I put so much pressure on myself and was so anxious about it I panicked when it came to show time. We still got to ride though. DHS was still super busy. We usually got to Disney every other year late Jan - early Feb and I've never seen it this busy.

Question: Were the exceptionally large crowds you experienced just in DHS or the park as a whole?

So if I’m reading this right, boarding groups are filling up within 1 minute? Yikes!

Looking like they may be trying to find the sweet spot for running the ride.

Looks like they may be trying to find the sweet spot for the ride to stay fully functional, determine how many people to put in BG and how many groups they can get through in a day. It appears as if they’re getting closer.

Yes, but only the REGULAR (Guaranteed-ish) boarding groups. Backups are available for anywhere from several minutes to more than an hour after that. If you look at the chart, you'll see they've been getting through a great number of backup groups most days.

I also took @SouthFayetteFan's idea for a rolling average and graphed it; what's evident is after some huge gains the first few weeks, it's been pretty stable, with no real improvement. The ride is still running at best at 2/3 of it's THRC and 80% of it's expected OHRC, so here's hoping they figure it out.

True BUT, you'll get a boarding group as long as you are in the park before opening, even if it's a back up group. And with the new method of their giving out fewer standard groups (which is why they are going so fast) they are getting through the back ups. So it's not as dire as it seems on the surface.

Apologies as it's likely been asked, but how do evening extra magic hours effect boarding groups and who is called?

I imagine boarding groups are mixed on site and off site guests, so do boarding groups continue with off site guests into extra hours? Is there a different system for who rides in extra magic hours that excludes off site guests and gives on site guests an advantage?

We'll be on site for a HS evening extra hours night and we're unsure what to expect.

We'll be arriving early to get a BG and rope drop MFSR. Since we'll have two little kids with us, I'm trying to anticipate the logistics if one of them needs the restroom while we're waiting to get in. Where are the bathrooms in that area, and how easy (or not) are they to get to / get back to your group waiting in the crowd?

Currently, RotR is not run during EMH. So boarding groups/rides will end at the "normal" closing time.

Sayhello

@joxer1014 we were there January 10-24th, the weekend of and week after the marathon weekend weren't actually too busy, however we found that from 17th onwards there was a big change in how busy it was throughout all parks. We visited DHS 4 times and found it to be much busier in the second week - we assumed due to MLK day being on Monday 20th and people were taking a week long vacation. Really surprised at the huge difference in crowd levels though. I think SWGE has essentially made it like Christmas everyday in DHS in terms of crowds

We will be at DS on Tuesday, February 4 and need help with our morning plans. DS is scheduled to open at 8:00 am and we would like to try to get onto Rise of the Resistance. We are staying at POFQ.

My questions are:
1. What time should we be at the bus stop? Should we consider alternate transportation?
2. How long will it take us at DS to get from the bus stop through the turnstile and into the park. The crowds look massive and I can't even guess how long it will take. I want to make sure we are in the park before opening.

Any advice you have is appreciated.
we were just at POFQ for 2 weeks and my advice would be get an Uber! We have 3 kids aged 5,3 and 1, park open was 7am, so we got them all up at 5 and were on the bus stop at 5.50. NO buses came until 6.48, and we didn't get to DHS until 7.08. Thankfully we got a BG (116, which was the last regular BG for that day) but didn't get called until 5.30pm, which made for a super long day for the kids. We spoke to guest services about the bus service and they called the transportation department who had no idea why the bus didn't turn up for us.
We were lucky as we managed to get on the bus but the line was so long that around 15 people were left at the bus stop so doubt they got a BG that day. Also, people are crazy trying to get BG's, 2 grown men shoved my 3 year old daughter as she was trying to get off the bus - lucky for them they ran so my husband wasn't able to have a word with them! The walk from the bus stop to bag check was about 5 minutes for us.

We have our VIP tour today. We are ending the day at Disney Studios. Tour is over at 5. But gonna go for a BG this morning with my older daughters. Aiming for a backup group to ride in the evening knowing that if there are any significant breakdowns we won’t get to ride.

tomorrow is our last day, so we will give it a shot if we don’t get a ride today.

Here!! Timeline so far:

5:14: left hotel (off-site)
5:22: arrive DHS, parked in first row of cars
Validated ticket is on magic band with Guest Relations - no queue (momentary panic last night when magic band in app showed as Inactive)
5:28: in queue, far right tapstiles
6:12: tapstiles open, holding at Galaxy’s Edge

Argh someone next to me loudly discussing RotR! After 2 months avoiding spoilers I am very close to sticking my fingers in my ears and saying “Lalalala”.
I was just telling my son about the logistics of getting a BG last week. He decided to go on YouTube and watch a video about the ride ! I had to leave the room. It was either that or stick my fingers in my ears too.

Going next week and very interested in this one versus two hour return window. DD wants to do Jedi Training and I’m wondering how that works if our BG gets called during that time.
