Love the countdown chain too!!! The girls look like they had a blast on your themed days, Earth day and making the chain! :) :goodvibes

had to go looking for it, but found it finally!
POTC Disney Day!

LOVE the countdown chain!!!! :thumbsup2

Amanda

Thanks Amanda! The girls were pretty excited to rip off another today, I think I've officially started Disney Madness here! :thumbsup2

Two to three weeks is a long time when you're patiently (or not so) waiting!
What is YES? I see it on here now and then and have no idea what that stands for.:confused3
Last Fall the free Dining was offered up to Sept. 29/11 so you might run in to people who are using FD during your trip (us being one of those families;)) Not sure how that will affect the crowdedness of the restaurants though.....after all I'm a Disney(and DISboards) newbie:rotfl2:

I am an advisor for our school YES (Youth Education Series) group! Every October we take between 24 and 30 7th and 8th graders on our YES and Explorations in Space trip!!! It is a great experience and offers enough unique programs that it worth it to me to leave MY 2 kids for a few days to take other children to Disney... we also go to Kennedy and Sea World! I have been on many of their educational programs and always love them... well, not the one on careers at Hollywood Studios:confused3... This October we are doing the Cirque program for the first time and I am super excited!!!!

Hey everyone! Sorry I have been missing the last couple days! One of my closest friends had her baby last night, she had a homebirth and had me photograph it! I'm working with only an hour and a half sleep right now, but wanted to pop in and give a tiny update! Here's the big boy!

How precious!

But, on to more Disney related things! Tonight I will have a house full of girls b/c Disney is releasing a new movie (on the Disney channel) called Lemonade Mouth. We always have movie parties when they do this, it's sort of become a tradition! Hope will be here tonight as well, so I'm sure we'll talk Disney! I have all kinds of lemon/lemonade themed stuff, I'll take pics and post them when I get a chance! Just wanted you to know that Disney is ALWAYS on my mind!

AND...Monday is Disney Day with Hope & Kya! Leslee will be joining us as well, it's her first Disney Day with us, so we're making a big production of it naturally! ;)

I love your movie days. We do these, too, but my crowd, a 3.5 year old and 1.5 year old, is a little different than yours! We call them Family Movie Nights, but we always use Disney movies!

Disney Day! Today we did Tangled, we even attempted to do a movie and go back to our Disney movie day roots, but quickly remembered why we started calling them Disney DAYS instead of movie days! Nobody watches the movie!

Your Tangled theme was too cute! We have not done Tangled, yet, so I might have to borrow some ideas!

It's COUNTDOWN TIME!!!!! Oh yes, We're 153 days out and we made our chain! :lmao: This is tradition, we like to string it up along the windows in the living room!

Leslee is here for a few days, getting a break from all the hub-bub of having a new family member in her house! :lovestruc So, the girls sat down and numbered (b/c we'll lose count if it's not numbered!) and stapled up our huge chain last night. Not the best pic b/c it was dark, but here they are being silly with the chain...

Here it is strung across the windows this morning...

This is too cute! My son would probably tear it all down in 10 mins and declare that it is time to go to Disney! :rotfl:

They sound really great! We've only been to Homeschool Days, which was spread out all over the park instead of being an actual class (and we did it on our own, no instructor) but we really enjoyed it. I've heard great things about the YES classes as well!

Yep, I wish I had done something like this when they were little, I have to adjust lots of stuff b/c it's too "babyish" for my daughter now. I bet you have fun on your Family Movie nights! :thumbsup2

We did a Pirate night for the Jake and the Neverland Pirates premier on Disney Jr. I am planning on posting a few pictures on my PTR this week of it. Maybe you can get a few ideas...

Thanks Karen- love it- the cookies are adorable! we will definitely do some sort of treasure hunt, but the kiddos are younger, so we will do something simple. although we like the adults to participate too- so maybe we will do something for us too!

Today was another Disney Day for us and we had a super-secret-kim-possible-mission-day! ;)

We kept most of our plans and decorations secret from the girls this time, it fit the theme! It was just Kya and Savannah, Leslee couldn't make it this week.

Almost as soon as they arrived, we sent the girls out on their mission around town! It was drizzling and chilly, but the girls took an umbrella and they avoided getting too wet. I'm lucky enough to live in a very small town, and we are walking distance to most everything in town. So, we gave them their first clue and sent them on their secret-spy-mission.

The first clue said this: Kya & Savannah, get ready for an international adventure! You are on a mission to save the world. Shego will not stop until she destroys world peace! go to studio K hair salon where shego was last spotted. Take a picture of the sign and send it back to headquarters for your next assignment!

After they left, Hope and I decorated the table! We had lots of spy/map decorations, chips and dip, quesadillas, a BOMB cake that Hope made, and some really cool things that we made for the girls just by printing stuff out.

Hope made the girls passports, I made spy notebooks and we made them spy cell phones (with candy buttons!). It was fun to decorate the table without them around and then have them arrive back to everything set out.

After their first clue, we sent more clues in text to them. We sent them to the grocery store to find and photograph Soy Sauce (Shego was preparing for a trip to China!) and we sent along each girl with a bag of quarters so they could get a drink and a trinket out of the junk (ahem...spy agent machines!) at the store as well. Then we sent them to the thrift store to find shoes (Shego was looking for running shoes) and then to the post office before heading back to the house. I think they had a great time!

We also did something a little different this time at the end of our day. The girls wrote down different ideas of Disney Days that they would like and drew to see what we would do for our next Disney Day. I think they liked having more input! :)

What an awesome idea:thumbsup2 Looks like a lot of fun! I love hearing about your Disney days, thanks so much for sharing.

What an adorable Disney Day! You guys are so creative... I am super impressed. What a fantastic idea... this is perfect for your daughter's age. Seeing everything you guys do together makes me wish I had a Disney Buddy. You all are so lucky!

Great idea on getting their input. Sorta like a consumer interest group.:)

Oh wow! Your kimpossible adventure was awesome. My girls would love to do something like that. Obviously the little ones aren't going to walk to the stores, but we have a lot of "stuff" on our street. Very cute. I'll have to remember that.

LOVE the Kim Possible day!!! So awesome!!! I wish I could get Victoria away from the laptop long enough to do something like that.....

Karen- another theme well done! Sounds like a great one and the girls must have had a blast doing it!
