30 Day Disney Photo Challenge
Day 20: A picture of the best way to beat the heat at Disney.

There are oh so many ways! Luckily, I don't think we'll need to do any of them this January! I'm more worried about the cold! Anyway, here's a shot of Savannah & Isabella at Typhoon Lagoon in 2008. They loved it! I was glad that I bought a waterproof disposable camera that day to carry around!

Up next! An actually little update! Better get one in b/c this week is only going to get busier as we head towards Christmas!

My pre-Christmas update! We have a busy couple weeks heading our way. It started yesterday! We drove into St. Louis to see the Nutcracker, which we have been doing every year with our homeschool friends! The kids really enjoy it and it's a fun day!

We started off with the Nutcracker and I shamelessly stole Hope's pic (my BFF for those of you that haven't followed her on the DIS) because I decided not to bring my camera and my iphone doesn't take the best shots in low light! Here are the kids before the performance:

After the show, which was wonderful this year, BTW! we headed to the mall for lunch and a little shopping. After shopping, I made a B-line for the new Disney store! DUH!

you'll have to excuse this shot and the next as they are from my phone, so not the best, but worth sharing! I was actually underwhelmed by the Disney store?!?!? It actually made me a wee bit sad b/c I think had my kids been younger, it would be great, but I think they've grown out of most of the stuff that was there. Savannah seemed underwhelmed as well and I didn't buy a single thing! I kept thinking that I would rather have souvie money on the trip. Of course I'll pay more at the parks, but they didn't have nearly the selection that the parks have.

After that the girls posed for a picture and we checked out the mall.

I think Hot Topic was the hit of the day, although Savannah was tortured b/c she wanted to buy everything in the store but didn't have money for it without giving up something else. She has saved up quite a bit of money this year, but it's all in envelopes for different things: Disney, Ipad2, and Christmas gifts for her friends. So, we left empty handed, but had a great day with friends!

Today is the quiet before the holidaycrazy! Tomorrow I got back into St. Louis to pick up my SIL at the airport and Eli, my stepdaughter. Eli is coming for 3 days and SIL is staying for 2 weeks! She's 30, but mentally challenged, so it's going to be busy around here to say the least! I have tons of petsitting (YAY DISNEY MONEY!!!!) and lots of family fun coming up. If I don't update again, I hope all of you have a wonderful holiday as well!!

How did you manage a pic from the mall with all three girls looking at the camera?! Next time the person with the real camera gets to go first since our daughters have the attention span of a gnat when it comes to pictures!

Hey, you were the one that said "look at Karen first and let her get a picture!" We should know by now that we only get a few seconds for THE shot and then they are done!

Packing, what's that?!?!? What's funny is that I'm a planner-to-the-max and on any other trip I usually have the bags out a month in advance, but with Disney, that is REALLY hard to do! I have two bins with tshirts and disney "stuff" in them, but we don't have any proper suitcases and I was going to use Rey's huge dufflebag for most of our stuff and he has it with him in his truck. If I do that, it would mean packing the day he gets home, which is less than 24 hours before we leave! I'm not sure I can handle that!

Day 21: The best place to take a picture at Disney.
Most people would say in front of the castle, and that's a great place, as well as ON any roller coaster b/c it makes for a unique shot, but one of the best places is World Showcase for me. Especially as the sun is going down and the lights from all the countries are shining on the water...sigh...

I think Hope may lend me a suitcase, so that will help, but the bins I have are full and I'm afraid everything will get cat hair all over it if I start an "open" pile! I will revisit it at the first of the year, until then, we have lots of family coming and I have my SIL here through the 3rd. I think after she leaves, then the packing will begin and I'll be scurrying around for bags!

Mmmm... I think it will fit but Robbie says to find out the dimensions of the luggage rack and we'll double check to be sure. The suitcase is pretty big- I have to be careful when I'm flying that it doesn't exceed the 50lb weight limit.

Day 22: A picture from your favorite Disney movie. One of my favorites: and since I only want to use my own shots, you will have to guess what movie(s) this is by the attraction. Shouldn't be too hard for anyone here on the DIS! In fact, if you don't know, you may have not been to WDW since 2007 or may be some sort of walking zombie.

day 23: A picture of the character you dislike most. I had to rack my brain about this and then got annoyed b/c WHY would you take a picture of a character you didn't like? I don't think they really thought about "photography" when making this list, but I digress...

So, I came up with Scar from Lion King, which I don't have a picture of, but I DO have pictures of FOTLK! That's pretty close!

At least you have stuff separated into bins! With me, I'll have my packing list done months in advance, and I'll use that as an excuse not to pack until the day before!

Oh my goodness, your Phineas & Ferb day was just so perfect! We're really hoping that their photo spot is opened up when we go in 10 days because it wasn't back in May. Such a cute idea for such a great show.
