"Reach for the sky!" We're finally getting there in JAN 2012!!!TR LINK PG 69!

Your shirts look great!!!

There definitely does come to the point of planning that you HAVE to stop reading the dining reviews of places! I drove myself nuts over Via Napoli, and did end up cancelling it for La Hacienda. But not before looking at about a billion pictures of pizza and pasta!

:lmao:

Yep! To be honest, my KIDS don't have expensive or foodie taste anyway, we live in the middle of nowhere and they aren't used to having anything really other than home-cooked food b/c we don't have any really nice restaurants in this area. This will give them the opportunity to try a bunch of different types of foods and they are looking forward to the variety. I have lots of dietary restrictions, so that keeps me from being super picky anyway...just don't give me a plate of iceberg lettuce for a salad and I'm pretty good. :p

I love the tye-dye. One of these days I'm going to try that!

FWIW, we really liked Chefs. I didn't expect to but DD10 wanted to see Remy, and it ended up being a very nice lunch... Good service, good food, amazing onion soup and desserts.

Oh good! I guess for every person that likes it, someone won't, and I'm totally ok with that, I had just read so many bad ones, I was beginning to believe that wasn't the case!

30 Day Disney Photo Challenge Day 5: A picture of your least favorite ride or attraction.

I had to rack my brain about this one! Yes, there are attractions that are less appealing to me, like Stitch, but I have avoided it, so I have no idea if I really dislike it! Finally I remembered going on Astro Orbiter our first time and I didn't like it. Too much spinning (give me a roller coaster instead any day!) and Savannah was sitting in between my legs and there was such force that my legs were being jammed up against the sides. LOVE taking pictures of it though!

So today I'm headed to the city to shop with my BFFs for Christmas! I haven't done that...well, ever! I have been shopping for Christmas online for years, basically since we moved out here and there are less stores available. Really excited about today, it should be fun to have a day out with the girls! :goodvibes

Day 6: A picture something you've never ridden/seen in the parks.

Ah, that would be Tower of Terror! I'm pretty much a ride-junkie, give me any roller coaster and I'm happy as a clam riding them over and over, but DROPS? Well, drops are another thing. I scream my head off like someone has stolen my Starbucks when I go down just the ONE drop on Splash, but repeated drops? I shudder at the thought! I just stood at the base of ToT and stared at it last trip. Never got up the nerve...maybe this time?!?!? :sad2:

I bet you recognize THIS shot Ann! :goodvibes

and can I just say, HOLY REHAB! Sheesh! I know stuff has to be rehabbed, but I think they decided to do it all in January! I'm looking at the brightside here and hoping it keeps people away, but I don't think most people that go to WDW look at the rehab list. Just for fun, here are the closings during our trip:

-Dumbo
-Big Thunder
-Liberty Riverboat
-Kali River rapids
-Fantasmic
-Plaza ice cream parlor
-Tutto Italia

I guess listed it doesn't look like THAT much, but no ice cream for Wishes??? Maybe it will be too cold anyway and we'll want something warm. No Kali is probably a good thing too, it's one of the only rides I can't take my camera on...so I'm not too upset, but hoping this will deter some people from coming in January! :goodvibes

Oh yes Karen....this would be the picture I purchased from you and it's hanging in my living room right now!!! Whereas you've never been on TOT, I've been on close to 30?? I LOVE IT!! You really will, too! The anticipation is so much worse than the actual ride. I promise! :thumbsup2 Plus, you could get lucky and do 5 or so mini drops rather than 1 or 2 huge drops!! I'm actually fb friends with one of the bellhops there -- Keven! He's so awesome!

I understand about the rehabs. I was upset that Backlot Studio Tours was closed during our last vacation. :guilty: We still had a wonderful trip! This year will be different for us --- there will be no MNSSHP during our stay. We had to change our dates due to Victoria's high school so we'll be there August 15th through the 26th. Bummer, but not......

That ToT pic is fabulous! I can't believe you've never ridden it, it really is one of the very best rides Disney has ever created. Even if you don't ride it is worth going through the queue and taking the chicken exit just to see all the detail that went into the Hollywood Tower!

I think the recent additions to the rehab list are all we'll see. I hope so anyway. Dumbo and Thunder are still the big bummers. No Kali in January is actually somewhat of a relief for me because last time we were there in the winter the kids rode, got stuck, and then complained about being wet. And that was on a warm day, relatively speaking!

Weird, double post...

Did you notice you started a trend? I think there are 3 or 4 of us January trippers doing the photo challenge now!

Hi Karen getting caught up here...I really hope you start feeling better soon for your trip :goodvibes

love your photo challange I saved the post for future use

love the pictures you have shown so far, they are wonderful...it is a fun way to count down to the end, i loved doing my 40 things countdown for the Oct. trip! can't wait to see more popcorn::

and I know the refurb/closing list can spoil a trip :headache:

I'm glad you saved it for later, I would LOVE to see your 30 day Disney photo challenge!!!

Day 7: A picture of your favorite in-park character.

VERY hard again to choose! I don't really have a favorite, maybe Minnie, but I was thinking of in-park, I enjoy Chip & Dale and Pluto because they are so much fun at character meets. Then I remembered one of my favorite character shots, so I had to choose Thumper. He was so engaging and fun! Thumper AND Miss Bunny danced around with Savannah and it's one of my favorite moments. So much fun!

Look at that ticker Karen- 1 month and 20 days! seriously, you are so close! :thumbsup2

Love the shirts, i've never attempted to do tie dye. Those turned out so well! I think my favorite is the bottom right!

lol at ToT! It is one of my favorites. you have to try it sometime. We actually got my son (just turned 4) on it in October. He was scared, but he had watched the video of it and wanted to try it- he loves Haunted Mansion and knew there were "ghosts" on this one too. He had a death grip on me the whole time. But once we got off, he said "scary hotel is fun"!!!! :rotfl:

I wanted to ride again later in the trip and figured I'd ride alone while DH sat out with him. But as we got close he decided he wanted to ride again. i think i've created a monster! Now he loves talking about the scary hotel.

Wow that is a lot of closures during your trip. I knew the Dumbo one since they are preparing to open the new Dumbo in February and move the old one shortly after I guess. But there is still so much to do- you definitely won't be bored! :wizard:

I keep telling myself that if little kids can do it, I can too! I'm really hoping that Dallas, my ride-junkie, will peer pressure me into it once we get there! :p

I had a super productive day at home today! Not all of it was Disney related, but I finished up all our T-shirts and sweatshirts today and took some pics! I LOVE how our sweatshirts came out, I think they are my favorite!

wdwshirts001.jpg

These are for Me, Rey, Dylan, & Dallas. The girls have a different kind of jacket they wanted (see below)

Savannah & Leslee actually wanted jackets instead of hoodies, so we found brown jackets with pink trim and they picked out what DISigns they wanted on them. Leslee picked a Stitch DISign for the back and a little star of Stitch on the front:

wdwshirts005.jpg

Savannah wanted Marie on hers, I cannot wait for her to FINALLY see Marie, we missed her last time and she's so looking forward to it!

Our matching shirts, which I really love! I even put a transfer on the arm as well, burned myself doing it, but it was worth it! ;)

and MY shirts!
wdwshirts021.jpg

Of course, this isn't ALL of them, we have the tie dyes and then a bunch of shirts from last trip, some that didn't even get worn! :lmao: I'm a little bit of a freak about the shirts!

That is such a cute picture of Savannah and Thumper!

Love all of your hoodies, jackets, and shirts! They look awesome!!

30 Day Disney Photo Challenge: Day 8: A picture of the ride you miss the most.

Well, since I never went as a kid, and don't really have any memories of rides-long-gone, I have interpret this question a little differently. I guess I could put Minnie's House, but I'm pretty excited about the Fantasyland changes, and wasn't too upset that they took the houses. BUT, rehabs count too in my book! So, THIS is what I will miss most on our next trip b/c Big Thunder will be down for rehab for 5 months and our trip falls during that time. One of my favorite rides!
