"Reach for the sky!" We're finally getting there in JAN 2012!!!TR LINK PG 69!

Just a mini-update (I would update EVERY DAY if I could think of something to post!) ;) We're at 131 days today, which means just a month until we start our 100 day countdown (and it's Savannah's bday!) :woohoo:

Rey and I talked Disney yesterday and ironed out some Epcot plans/meals, which I was happy to do! He's being slightly "difficult" about stuff and I'm wondering if he's going to annoy me this trip since I won't have my IL's there to get annoyed with!

We decided to ditch Rose & Crown for Via Napoli. We were going to do both but pay OOP for VN, but honestly, it's just going to be too much food and why pay OOP for a meal when we have free dining and can just eat there as a TS? More on that when I start laying out our daily plans. I have to wait until we get closer though or there will be nothing to post! ;)

Hope & I are planning on another Disney Day, but she has a new job and we are both pretty busy, so it's going to have to wait until the 2nd week of October!

At least I'll have a little mini-TR for mine & Rey's Anniversary weekend coming up Oct.1-2! I'm getting so excited!!!!!!!!! :lovestruc

Ok, enough rambling. I wish ANN would get home from Disney already and post on her PTR! I'm getting worried, I thought they were coming home Friday?!?!?

Those 131 days will fly by!! We did just the opposite, we went with Rose and Crown instead of Via Napoli. I really wanted to try both, but knew that dh would much prefer the Rose and Crown and he loves fish and chips. Making ADRs is so hard when there are so many places you'd like to try!

I KNOW! Even with free dining it seems I still wanted more meals! We went with VN b/c Rey really wanted to go and I only had R&C b/c I wanted to sit out and watch Illuminations. They only have one vegetarian item on the menu, so I decided it was the easiest meal to go. PLUS, we only have two days at Epcot and Rey wanted to eat at Chef's PLUS eat around the world one day?!? We'll be rolling out of there...

R&C was yummy BUT I still fantasize about the pizza at Via Napolia...The crust was just so yummy and chewy and the topping were great too...yuuuuummmm now I want it NOW lol

That's good to hear! I don't even EAT pizza, but I'm willing to gain some bloat (dairy allergy) and fall back into vegetarianism vs. vegan to taste it!

Ooh! There's a mini TR coming up? I hope you guys have a great anniversary/vacation :goodvibes

Yep! We leave in 11 days!!! :woohoo: We're just going to St. Louis (100 miles from where we live) for a weekend getaway, but I'm SO excited! I will be taking my camera, of course, and I'm so excited to check out some of the restaurants/shops in the area we are staying! Here's a link to the area we are staying in, it's called The Loop:

A Non-Disney update! Yesterday we went to a friend's house to make homemade beauty products. It was Savannah & 3 of her friends, Leslee (the friend going with us in Jan), Eleanor (her house), and Kya (Hope's dd). They had a lot of fun, here's what they made:
sugar scrub, moisturizer, lemony-mint toner, body powder, & lipbalm. A couple of them made deodorant, but Savannah wasn't interested in homemade deodorant!

Lots of ingredients, but really each thing only had a couple each.

Sugar for the sugar scrub and adding essential oils (Savannah made hers lemony)

Mmmm, they decided to add chocolate chips and mint extract to the lip balm, I think this is Savannah's favorite!

Savannah was using all her stuff last night, it was a fun and different activity for us all!

Soooooooooo, I have FOUR DAYS until Rey and I are off for our two night getaway!!! I'm pretty excited!!! :woohoo: Now, if I could just STOP STRESSING about money and enjoy, everything would be good!

Oh, Karen, that looks like a blast! My daughter would be all about that! It looks like the girls had a lot of fun.

The homemade beauty products party sounds like fun! I like their idea of the mint chocolate chip lip balm! :thumbsup2

Via Napoli instead of Rose and Crown looks like a good tradeoff. I'm SO excited for our ADR there, everything looks so good!

Yep, I tried some of the lip balm and it was yummy...but just made me want to eat it. :p

I'm glad we gave up R&C for Via Napoli, I was really only going there for the fireworks and that seems like a bad way to spend a TS if I wasn't even sure about what I would be eating there!

Let's get this mini-TR going! I can't actually promise that it will be "mini" as I have a way of rambling and dragging stuff out! If you didn't know that, you probably haven't been reading me much.

So, we live in rural Missouri and wanted to take a short weekend trip to somewhere fun and inexpensive. We've NEVER (seriously, not even a honeymoon) been away alone together! So, we chose St. Louis (where I grew up) which is about 100 miles from our house. That way we didn't have too long to travel and more time to enjoy!

As usual, there was an issue with Rey making it home! We had a similar mishap when he was trying to get home for our WDW trip in 2009, so when he called me up Wednesday and said he wasn't going to be home Friday night, but would make a delivery Saturday morning and then come right home so we could head out, I had a bit of a fit. After calming down and calling to apologize for my sobbing rant, I realized it wasn't that big of a deal, we had plenty of time!

I had found out that the car would not need a repair for the check engine light that had come on, so we could afford to stay Saturday and Sunday!

My mom came out with Jared, my nephew, so the boys had a pal. Rey arrived home and after a few hugs goodbye, we were off! Savannah didn't get upset, so I was really relieved. (but this wouldn't last!)

We drove in and arrived in The Loop, an area known for it's restaurants, shops, and entertainment, right around lunchtime! We stayed in the most amazing boutique hotel, I have stayed in a LOT of hotels, but this one was one of the best. I was really impressed! (ALMOST Disney impressed. :p )

We were upgraded to a King Jacuzzi suite instead of just a regular king suite and I was SO excited! Unfortunately, I'm so used to Disney magic that I thought we were upgraded for free. I realized when checking out that we had opted on the reservations to pay $25 extra a night to upgrade, so not quite as magical.

The room was gorgeous and I wish I had a wider lens so you could see how large it was. Since the hotel is called the Moonrise, it is properly themed as well to match its name. The bathroom was huge as well with the HUGE tub and a shower with one of those awesome rain-overhead-showerheads!

Before heading out for lunch, we took a couple pics, Rey was being a TOTAL dork and making faces. I actually have about 7 different shots that I made B&W I'm going to put in a frame. It's so us. :p

We headed out to walk The Loop and get lunch! Being the planner I am (surprised?) I had already scoured the menu's and found a place that I REALLY wanted to eat! Ranoush is a Syrian/Mediterranean restaurant, and at first I thought we would eat out at the sidewalk tables, but when we walked in I said NO WAY, we are eating INSIDE! LOVED the look and feel, loved the music. It was perfect! :lovestruc

I knew what I wanted already, the vegetarian platter! Mmmmm! Rey got some chicken special, I wasn't paying attention, I was too busy drinking my pink lemonade cocktail!

20thAnniversary050.jpg

After stuffing ourselves silly (ok, Rey has more self control than me, so he wasn't as stuffed) we walked the loop and took in all the shops! There weren't as many as I thought there would be, but we found some really neat places and I got this bracelet and they gave me some henna for making a purchase! Good thing it was free b/c I kinda messed it up when we got back to the hotel. :rolleyes1

We headed back to the hotel after shopping and I took this wicked-I'm-a-cool-photographer-shot when we got off the elevator. ;)
