I am so confused, I was going to go to Disneyland at the start of Dec. to experience the parks at Christmas time. But was just reading about the 1st D23 member party at DLR on March 10th, it sounds amazing, but I am afraid I am going to have to pick one or the other and I don't know when to go, the next time I would be able to go at Christmas would be Christmas of 2012, not sure what to do, was just curious what others would do. Thanks in advance.:goodvibes

It depends on how important the D23 party is to you. Christmastime at the resort is my favorite time. It is beautiful and full of spirit. Also more refurbishments are going on through the Spring. Typically the closer you get to Christmas the less refurbs you will encounter.

Thank you for the response. I was leaning towards the Christmas trip myself, only because March is right around the bend and I wouldn't have enough time to save. Plus I have always wanted to see DLR at Christmas. So thank you for the advice. :goodvibes

Being the huge DLR at Christmastime nut that I am (even though I was only able to get there for one day this past December, it was better than nothing, and I was not going to miss out on the fun!), I can't possibly tell you to NOT go in December!! I can see the lure of the D23 event, though. The only reason why I think December of 2012 would be a better option than December of this year is because all the DCA changes should be in place by then - the Little Mermaid ride, Carsland, the Toy Story musical, the new entrance to DCA, of course, World of Color, maybe some new restaurants and shops by that time, etc. And, most likely, a bigger deal will be made of DCA at Christmastime in 2012 than in 2010 or previous years, simply because of all the new stuff that will be there. Also, there will be many more PhotoPass opportunities by then because of all the new DCA things. Those are the ONLY reasons why I would say go in 12/12. Otherwise, I would say that the prices for everything in both parks - tickets, hotels, food, merchandise, all of it - will likely be a lot higher in 12/12 than they are now!

But, as you say, if you choose to go for the D23 event, that is basically right around the corner, so you would have to get that trip together rather quickly.

Hey Sherry, thanks for the advice. I think I have decided that I will go this Dec. and then back in Dec. of 2012. The D23 event is just too close and I wouldn't have time to save nor enough money to do the things I want to do, so it will be a Christmas trip this year. I really hope that all the construction doesn't mess up the Christmas feel. I am thinking it won't but hoping that is the case. :goodvibes
