Hi everyone,

Was debating posting here or in Restaurants... hope I made the right choice!
We're headed to WDW in August :yay: and staying at the Poly. Booked all my ADRs, but am a little concerned about travel time for a couple of days. We'll have a car.

We'll be at Hollywood Studios one day and have an ADR at Boma for 5:20. Plan on probably returning to HS after dinner. HS open until 10pm. Thoughts on time needed, bad idea?

The other day I'm wondering about, we're at MK and going to Captain's Grille for 6:30 dinner. Also want to return to MK as it's open until 12am. Thoughts? May not have the car this day since we'll probably use the monorail.

Would love some expert input! THANKS!!! :flower3:

I think the rule of thumb is to allow 60 minutes for direct travel and 90 if you've got to connect somewhere?

You will lose a lot of park time on both days.

For Boma, you would need to leave the park by 4:30 in order to get out to your car, drive to AKL, park, then get to the restaurant. Reverse the process at the end of your meal, and I doubt you would be back inside DHS before 7:30 at the earliest.

Not sure why you would want to go all the way to the Yacht Club for dinner on a MK night instead of doing it on an Epcot night. But again, you would need to leave MK by 5:30 and not count on being back before 8:30 at the earliest.

Looks good to me if that's your preference. Personally, if I'm at HS I eat at HS. If not at HS I walk over to the boardwalk and eat there. When I'm at MK I usually splurge on CG, Narc, Citricos or Ohana. No need to drive anywhere that way.

For the 5:20 Boma, I would be out of DHS, in the car by 4:30 pm at the very latest. I wouldn't plan on being back to DHS until about 7:30 pm or later.

Personally, I would never leave MK to go to Capt. Grille and then back to MK. The food isn't good enough to justify taking up that much travel time. If you really want to do this and not drive, the bus from MK to YC is the way to go. If you take the monorail, you would need park hoppers (which you may have) as you would have to take the monorail to EP walk all the way through FW and around part of WS to exit out International Gateway to get to YC. If you want to get back to MK via monorail, you have to reverse this (enter EP and walk all the way to the front to get the monorail). This takes a lot of walking and a lot of time. I would recommend looking into an MK area restaurant on this day. Any of the MK resort casual restaurants are on par with Capt. Grille - Kona, GFC or the Wave.

Thanks everyone! Helps a lot!
Family really wants to go back to Captain's Grille - I've changed this ADR to the Hollywood studios day instead. Figure Boma on the MK day is better as it's our 2nd MK day and may decide to explore AKL instead of returning to MK.
I may fiddle again (lucky there's still availability!). Really appreciate the feedback!

There's a whole "Transportation" forum with pinned posts just for questions like this.

Personally, I'd try to move some of those ADR's around. On a Hollywood Studios day, you'd be better off trying to eat at Captain's Grille, since you can take the boat or walk. Otherwise, that's going to be a lot of time on the tram and in the car to get to Animal Kingdom Lodge and back.
