I have my SW tickets for our Sept WDW trip (one way flights for a party of 5), and now I am awaiting a good ding!

Question 1 - When I get dinged, should I immediately re-book the flights, then cancel the original ones?

Question 2 - Is it better to do it on line, or call them?

Question 3 - Do I simply repeat the process if a better ding comes along later?

Question 4 - If the ding comes while I am at work (they won't let me have Ding on my work pc), is there anyway to book it? Or do I have to go through the Ding link?

Thanks!

Dings are internet ONLY through the Ding Program on your computer.

So sorry you can't call or do it on-line at work if Ding is not installed you have to go through the LINK.

If you travel a lot using SW then then yes you could just book your Ding and cancel your other flight. You then most likely (some fares you can get a CC refund) you will recieve a credit for up to 1 year from purchase (not travel) date. They also on occasion extend that but don't always count on it.

What I do for my family of 3 is book ONE-WAYS only this way if you get a DING you can cancel that part of the flight without risking the other part increasing. Then book the Ding with the credit number. If it's a big savings then you can use that as your next Ding comes up as well.

I open 2 windows go all the way on the canceled flight right up to the point of canceling.

Then in the second window I book the Ding right up to paying ( if this takes to long you might lose your Ding fare they go fast).

I then confrim the cancel you get a credit number .
Then go back and put the credit number in to pay for the Ding.

I have this to under a minute and have not been shut out yet. I have heard of people canceling ine flight only to find the Ding is no longer availible and their flight went from a $120 to $49 ( Ding ) to $270 only fare left in about the 5 minutes it took them to see the Ding go and cancel their flight and try to get back to the Ding.

Good luck and enjoy the Hunt for cheaper fares.

Thanks! That is good info about having 2 windows open at once and doing the cancel/book simultaneously. I will give it a try! All I need now is the ding, hopefully when I am home!

Has anyone gotten a good price from Seattle to Orlando ? What is the cheapest ding you have seen ? Is it possible to get a cheap flight in December ?

We're going for Christmas if we can get a cheap flight.
