I'm going to DL in a couple of weeks and will be staying at the Grand Californian hotel. My uncle will be coming too, and he's bringing his motor home. Will he still be allowed to park it there even though the reservation's not under his name? :confused3

P.S. I know the DL board is probably a better place to ask this, but I thought I'd ask here anyway. :goodvibes

I don't know that there is overnight RV parking at DL any longer. You should call the hotel and ask. I seem to remember in my pea brain that they did away with overnight RVing when they built the parking structure, but I could be wrong.

Is he staying in the hotel, or in the RV? There is free self parking at all three Disneyland Resort hotels. I can see them objecting to him sleeping in the RV, but the info on the website says nothing about restrictions on guests arriving in RV's parking their Rv's at the hotel.

From the website http://disneyland.disney.go.com/plan/guest-services/parking/

Hotel Parking

Hotel Parking

Disneyland Resort Hotels offer self-park and valet service for registered hotel Guests. Valet service requires an additional fee. Follow the "Hotels" signs directly to your destination; do not park in the theme park lot.

He was planning on sleeping in his RV. Maybe we should change the reservation to his name? I don't know. I'll call Grand Cal tomorrow. :confused3

I highly doubt they will let him sleep in his RV whether or not the reservations in his name. We drove our RV to Disney and stopped on the way home at Polynesian to pick up a gift we needed...I ran inside to get it and hubby took DD into the Rv to go potty... before they were done they already had security telling them they couldnt stay there.. even when he told them we were leaving and it was just a potty break, they stayed with him until I got back and we left..

There is very little parking available at the Grand Californian. I can't think of where he would even park his RV and I don't believe they will allow him to sleep in the RV. They used to have a campground

I cant imagine any Disney Hotel allowing this-even california. :confused3
I can just picture hotel parking lots full of RVer's camping-WDW is all about making $$$

Yeah, that's not going to work. I just drove my RV there, slept at the Anaheim Resort RV Park with my son and then went to DD the next morning. There was no RV parking there (there is some at the Mickey & Friends structure, but definitely not for overnight), so I parked on the outer edge of the lot, and was still stressing that cars were going to come in around me and prevent me from getting out.

Off the original topic as it may be, but this is actually allowed at Disneyland Paris - they allow you to drive into a special RV area of the main Disneyland Paris car park (the parks, not the hotels) at any time before park closing and you can then stay there for the night :thumbsup2
